I've read about the raise that happened at the beginning of the year. what i suggested is an auction, which is a totally different thing. I am not asking to make people pay now and wait for the release date. an auction can happen during the same release date, they do the auction lets say in 6 hours prior to the public launch, it will be a good release event. Anyway it was only a thought aimed at increasing the awareness (especially young avsim members) for a given cause. 

I'm pretty sure PMDG doesn't even waste their time reading topics like this one.

It was auctioned to the highest bidder (lucky him) I had allready spent too much on other things during the fund raiser, or I would quite likely be waving the flag about now, :-)

Why? Instead of giving PMDG your money so that they can earn interest on it, why not put it in a bank account and earn the interest for yourself? Pre-orders are only relevant for boxed sets if supply is an issue and you want to hold your place in line.

I understand the logic perfectly. I can not take from mponey that is set aside, if it is already out of my account. The OP is already determined to buy the airplane, and has some money available now that he does not want to be tempted by.

 

+1. This is a very funny thread but the core issue is that if you already have your 777 pennies saved, how to keep it from burning a hole in your pocket while waiting for it to ship? You could get an ammo box and bury the money in your back yard, or perhaps instead of pre-orders PMDG could sell bonds at a very low discount rate?  :lol:
