If you have worked a fatal accident and w/ the NTSB,FAA you know these folks are not kooks like those who spend their time dreaming up stupid things like this, enough please w/ the uninformed BS. This stuff belongs w/ the pinheads who still insist man never went to the moon. What about those mermaids, LOL

and so does Fox

Can we stop with the crap charge about Fox News and conspiracy theories?

Can you post one?

I stopped watching CNN and MSNBC because of the heavy bias toward (in favor of) Obama during the 2008 election... absolutely pathetic and turn-your-stomach sickening. Thankfully... there was an alternative.

Matthew... can you even watch Fox in New Zealand?

Fox News right wing conspiracy theory news channel? Whatever,

As the concorde11 put it... another one "in your flavor".

If there is strong enough evidence to reconsider the cause of the crash then I think it is a good thing to take a second look at the investigation.

Precisely... the ABC article says, "Six retired members of the original investigation team filed a petition Wednesday to reopen the probe".

A half dozen investigators wanting to reopen the investigation doesn't smack of a conspiracy... If they believe something else happened... let them present what evidence they have... why not take a second look?

Matthew... can you even watch Fox in New Zealand?

Only with a Sky Satellite TV subscription but people are not interested in it here. It used to broadcast on UHF free-to-air during the night but no one watched it so it was discontinued back in 2010. BBC World News is the popular one here and it broadcasts on free-to-air through the night like Fox used to.

I don't find Kiwi's to be news junkies like back home, there is too many other things to do here.

Matthew Kane

I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

I see....

No interest in watching it (to see for themselves)... only interested in regurgitating the liberal media hate of Fox.

Got it.

I'm no news junkie either... much of the "news" seems nothing more than "fillers and by-products"... stuff you can get going to the webpage once a day. But when I do want to get "news", I don't care to have the colored spin put on it like so many (liberal) organizations feel they must do (as if I am too stupid to not recognize bias).

This is from a lifelong TWA/AA pilot ----

"In the TWA 800 event, I knew the crew very well and in fact spoke to the Captain just hours before the crash. I had flown that same 747 many times. None of the pilots believed the center tank story & in fact the FAA was never able to make the tank explode in several tests. One of the TWA pilots who was assigned to the investigation was someone I worked with for many years. He was a very serious and capable pilot and instructor. He was the one who took a small piece of the seat cushion that had some strange substance on it. The substance turned out to be some sort of rocket fuel residue. He was arrested and kept in house arrest for a year. This is a person I trust."

Avsim is a retreat to get away from this kind of online garbage.

This is pure hearsay - show me any documented source for this statement.  No one was arrested and kept in house arrest for a year - that's total BS and right up there with the aliens held prisoner at Area 51.

Forget the Fox, CNN , MSNBC stuff. If this documentary is based on actual NTSB personnel who participated in the investigation then YES I would be curious to hear their opinions and side of story.

DJ -

Why don't you go to this thread in the CS Forum and call him a liar!! His name is Lou.

Were I am member at CS I would be happy to do so - his little story of the supersonic 727 rudder control failure is BS as well.  This nonsense isn't worth my time.

And just what are your credentials?? Lou has 40 years of flying Boeings.

Also, here is a reply from a long time friend and retired TWA flight attendant ---

"This is so interesting..I have known this for years..a very good friend of mine was the head of the training center when this happened..she was in my house shortly afterwards and was telling myself and another friend she was silenced by the ntsb and the faa..she was also told what she would say when asked..we were sworn to silence..at that tme our president was seen going in and out of the white house..there was a deal struck at that time and boeing would get contracts and we would get routes if the blame was taken.
We got china and others and boeing received alotof orders.
it was a matter of time until this came out"

I tell you what, you gentlemen have lost a lot of respect and esteem from fellow members, if the complaints have anything to do with it.

The kind of insults hurled at fellow members loaded with trash talk and contempt by some of you is not acceptable in normal civilized society, let along a social community like Avsim.

Any more of that kind of contempt for your fellow members like that and you will have to take your bitterness somewhere else. We don't want that here.

Kind regards,

Deleted my original. A little too rude. To sum up, if you want unbiased news watch PBS's news hour. It's not nearly as exciting as mainstream media though.

"The difference between people who watch Glenn Beck and those who watch Bill Maher is that people who watch Bill Maher know he's an a**hole."

Let's just keep it to this... shows you how much you know about FOX as "Beck" left "ages" ago... I really don't know when he came or left as his slot wasn't something I really paid much attention to.

I'm fully aware Beck left a while ago. The quote is slightly older. Insert any name there. The point remains and stands.
