Certainly an improvement over the last few days , it seemed at times that the pages were being refreshed by carrier pigeons !

Even without Tapatalk, forum here at avsim on a PC takes longer than any other site I frequent to load. This has been going on for a long time. To bad about Tapatalk, I know I will be coming here much less now as I usually visit from my phone or tablet using Tapatalk. On a phone the avsim front page looks terrible since they went to this new version.

Thanks a million Tom the speed is right back where it was many months ago it,s now almost instantaneous and I now am back in love with it  Yaaaaaaahooooo..John

It's a shame you guys decided to take down support for Tapatalk as this was a very convenient way to quickly view the forums. I have noticed that avsim had been very slow to load on my PC on Monday but haven't tried since. Please reconsider the decision.

Hi I use Tapatalk HD boight specifically for perusing avsim threads, will it work again disappointed if it won't it's the best way to few all topics that are new , doing it through the PC is a pain in the proverbial..

I use tapatalk it's great for easy viewing of threads at work and on ipad at home, well guess won't be here much anymore, unless someone can recommend another app that allows the viewing of recent topics and threads. The browser one is to slow and convoluted.

The problem is surely avsim's handling of Tapatalk, not Tapatalk itself. The mobile version of the forum is very slow and limited, a poor substitute. Browsing the forums was so much faster with Tapatalk. Please reconsider the decision to remove it.

Don't understand why it is so bad with Tapatalk. FSDT, Aerosoft, Orbx are all on Tapatalk.

Forum ran fine weeks ago, with Tapatalk installed.

Forum slowed down a few days ago.

There appeared to be a missing file associated with Tapatalk, and Tapatalk was disabled.

FORUM WAS STILL SLOW.

A day later, something was done, and the forum was back up to speed again.

Logical Conclusion.  Tapatalk was NOT the cause of the slow down.

Given the number of members that appear to access Avsim via Tapatalk,  maybe re-installing Tapatalk  (correctly, without missing dlls)  probably would not cause any  issues  ??

However, Granted, removal of Tapatalk is one way to limit the number of members who can easily access Avsim, and thus reduce the load on the server.

I have re-installed Tapatalk one more time. This upload is the second release from Tapatalk in less than a month - that should tell you something. This will be the last time we do this.

Someone mentioned a url that was pointing to a missing file as an issue. EXACTLY RIGHT - and exactly the issue we have with this app. The Tapatalk module updates over the last months screwed that up and ended up not removing previous links that were installed. We had to go in and clean out all the cumulative TT junk. We will not do that again and the minority of users who do use it will have to live with an alternative or with our very reliable mobile skin.

And now this topic is closed.

EDIT: To put some perspective on this; the chart from our Tapatalk Dashboard as of this moment shows maybe 30 unique users of TapaTalk a day. Compared to thousands and thousands coming in from PC's? Sorry folks, but if we start to see TapaTalk screwing up our system performance again, for whatever reason, it's gone.
