Tapatalk2 not working

Featured Replies

We have shut down Tapatalk and do not expect to bring it back online. It was too problematic for a site our size and with our amount of traffic, not to mention that it has some errors that caused extended load times for users.  If we find an alternative, or when we are convinced that Tapatalk has fixed its issues, we'll reconsider a separate mobile application.

That's unfortunate. I use TapaTalk on my iPhone and iPad to keep up with Avsim during the day and never had a problem.

It had no impact on your use of it on a mobile device. It had serious consequences for those coming in from a PC.

I am a serious user of Tapatalk, this decision really should be rethought. With Tapatalk users can contribute to threads and keep up with threads which are "Hot", it is only in the interest of this community to enable its users to interact in as many ways possible. While I understand that Tapatalk has been a source of the slow response times lately, surely with a few of us working together we can find the source to fix the issue.

Why are you so quick to point the finger at Tapatalk? Tapatalk gives us mobile access to thousands of forum communities which all are working, maybe a e-mail to a few others may be in order to find a solution rather than simple cut the access.

I would gladly volunteer my time to help this community in anyway that I can to bringing back the Tapatalk function as I believe its in the communities best interest to allow members to contribute not only via a traditional PC but also via a mobile device. Some of us simply are not able to have a computer in front of us, for various reasons.

Lets try to find a solution instead of just pulling the plug.

You realize the forum does have a mobile theme that works in the browser right? I use it all the time on my iPhone.

Yes, I do realize that the forum does have a mobile theme which works. Tapatalk provides (In my opinion) a sleeker interface to interact with the forum. Although there is negative transfer for those who used the Tapatalk app and will now be forced to use the mobile site, my prediction is that mobile use of the community will decrease due to this change.

Agreed.

Just use the mobile version, works great on my old Blackberry even.

I just bought their iphone app a few weeks ago, Tom you owe me 99cents   :P  :Just Kidding:

Rayos! Just when I was just starting to enjoy Tapatalk :(

Anyway, is it there a way to filter threads in the mobile version? For example, I'd like to see only four forums: FS9, FSX, Tinmouse and Ready for Pushback. But also I'd like to see the most recently discussed topics and a list of the topics in which I've participated (the lists you can see in desktop mode as soon as you enter the forums). The desktop version is excellent for this, but how can I do all that in the mobile version?

That's a shame, like most others at this point, I use Tapatalk to interact with Avsim very heavily.

Learning to use and getting use to FSX!

I'm sorry to hear that, too. I use Tapatalk very heavily as well ... but I understand Tom's point.

Looks like we'll all have to use the mobile browser ...

Yes, but it sucks horribly. No multiquote, no image insert, etc.
