August 1, 201312 yr I have no idea, as far as I can remember I've never touched that file. But the presumptions you made are correct. Anyone having lots of trouble with DX10 and who also have ManhattanX there is an alternative you can try with DX9 that I was considering - enable both ManhattanX and DD NYC X and then start playing around with disabling BGL files (rename their extension to .off). For example you can disable all the airport BGL files for ManhattanX and keep the DD NYC X ones and disable all the building BGL files in DD NYC X except the "NY_obuil" files and that might let you have ManhattanX on the island and the Jersey City/East River buildings from DD NYC X. I'm not sure if they can be made to co-exist but could be worth a try, disabling the majority of the DD NYC X Manhattan buildings could solve OOM issues. Thanks Drew. Was just trying to share the point about having a stable FSX-DX9-modesince it such is a valid one and should not be quickly dismissed for folks that want to use detailed add-ons. Sometimes it seems people are very quick to complain or dis the developers hard work but may have never taken the time to set up the FSX in the environment in which it resides (OS). Cheers. August 1, 201312 yr Did you do any of these? Can you share your system, way of installation please? "which version as in case win8-64 there are specifics so as not to OOM, along with user-control settings and instalation routines that if these aren't followed almost any demanding scenery or add-on wont have a chance" Sorry, I haven't tried troubleshooting those OOMs in DX9 mode yet. I applied the N.Y. texture patch 50 and switched to DX10. There are two more patches available (25 and 13) geared at reducing/eliminating OOMs in DX9 mode: http://asn.aerosoft.com/?p=23954 What happened to AVSIM

August 3, 201312 yr If you look at the video at: It looks great. Scroll down below the video and look at his computer specs, I have a 3G video card and 16G RAM. I am wondering if I should try it. The demo runs great in DX10 preview. Bob.
August 11, 201312 yr Anyone care to comment on performance of this add-on in a "worst-case" scenario, i.e. a system heavy plane like the NGX with FSDT's KJFK, traffic add-on, and severe weather at night? Or even just a general comparison with the performance of Manhattan X would be nice.
August 11, 201312 yr My question is will the full version of the scenery run OK on my system? I have a 3G video card and 16G RAM with an i7-2600k. Bob.
August 15, 201312 yr I find it highly unlikely no one who has purchased this add-on does not also have Aerosoft's Manhattan X...
August 15, 201312 yr Anyone installed DD NY + FSDT JFK + Imagine Sim's KLGA in DX10? Is that asking for OOM trouble? Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
August 15, 201312 yr I purchased version 1.1 today and the installer tells me that there is an error (#7) on file NY_large_S.bgl : file CRC mismatch - data integrity error. I have re-downloaded my purchase a few times (FSPilotshop) but I get the same error on each installation. The installation continues without problem when I click the "ignore" button, so it's just one file that is affected. Did any one else get the same problem? As the developer is getting married and will not be back on-line before august 22, we might have to wait before we can get a new bgl. I filed a ticket with FSPilotshop. August 16, 201312 yr Installed 1.1 after finding 1.0 unflyable due to OOM issues and building textures continually reloading. Flew for an hour today in several different aircraft and all appears to be good. NO OOM's at all. Frame rates 15-20 but smooth. Water on low 2.x, cars at 9, planes at 35, everything else maxed. 2500K @ 4.7 /w 560ti. Win7
August 16, 201312 yr Pepsimachine (lol), from which vendor did you buy NYC? It looks like at least one vendor has the correct file. Jean-Jacques Jean-Jacques Struyf between EBBR and EBCI

Or even just a general comparison with the performance of Manhattan X would be nice. A comparison with Manhattan X is there are about 600% more buildings, polygons and area covered and a about twice the FPS hit or more depending on your system, YMMV (this Haswell is not bad). Not much you can do about that. I would be happy with MX with more real looking toned down colors, finished and updated Ground Zero, and some more coverage of the boroughs - I think it would be a good compromise as MX has much better night textures and the models though much less detailed are also not warped and deformed looking. August 16, 201312 yr I feel bad for DD. They have done so much work and its hurting them (their sales I am sure).. I hope this does not discourage them from ambitious projects, I also wish they won't give up on NYCity and continue to improve on its performance tweaking. The thing is, when I get such products that push our machine to the limit, eventually when I get better hardware over a period of time, these annoying performance issues go away and we end up with awesome scenery.
