Another New York X

Featured Replies

I have both the FSDT KJFK and New York City X , the paid versions. They're compatable with one another. The airport looks great.The city looks great too, but I'll have to do some tweaking because there will be blocks of buildings that are grey for a second before it looks normal.

Yeah the visuals are amazing-they did a tremendous job in detail, but that texture lag on loading is a bit offsetting.. black squares for a few seconds initially.

Just purchased and installed this. I get large sections of the city that look like black slag. Eventually the buildings take shape, and then get textures. But there are still large sections that look like this off to the side of the view, and the buildings revert to slag after I have passed them. And from any distance almost the entire city looks that way.

I am using DX10, although the problem is the same in DX9. I have tried both low and high quality textures. i72600 at 4.5, 780Ti card. Any thoughts or suggestions? What am I missing, or is it supposed to behave this way?

DD sceneries are pretty amazing visually especially when you get to see them frame by frame. :lol:

BTW i fixed the texture lag/black texture popups for DD Miami City X by adding the following to my cfg. May or maynot work for you.

[DISPLAY]

TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=120

texturemaxload=9

I should add that I run default 1024 Max texture res and default LOD 4.5.

I will give that a try, thanks. I should be able to test it out tomorrow and I will let you know what happens.

Well, that didn't help. I seem to have a number of issues. In addition to buildings that look like they have been reduced to smooth rubble until you are right on top of them, I have no buildings north of about 1/4 of the way up Central Park.

Any of that sound familiar?

I experience the same black buildings, albeit in P3D v2. I didn't even think of trying to run it in FSX. I have an i7 2600 at 4.8 GHz and GTX680 (4GB). I can't find settings that will make this scenery work. I recently saw a post on the developer's site complaining about the black buildings. He said he would look into it. I've since not been able to locate that post again. It seems to have disappeared. I've just given up on the scenery for the time being.

I'm beginning to suspect that this is just the way the program works, and that it is much more noticeable to me because I use a three monitor setup. There are many more buildings to "create" at any given time compared to a single monitor view, so more of the buildings in my field of vision are left black and unformed.
