August 9, 201312 yr Commercial Member I was a very dedicated simracer two years ago, participated in very good online leagues with prizes, good drivers, fantastic organisation. Average duration of races was about a hour. There were also leagues with 3 hour races, and some special events on Le Mans with 12 hours or even 24 hour online races. Of course I didn't participated in those, I'm not crazy, I have a job, wife and little kid. The same goes to realtime long haul flights. If you are an avid simmer, you don't need to do the whole flight in realtime, and then saying that is the only realistic option. Also, did you guys forgot that pilots sleep during the long haul? Consider that sleep as PMDG time skip. :excl: Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.
August 12, 201312 yr Very good Feature. I have never flown without time acceleration and I will never do it. There is absolutely nothing to do between TOC and TOD. When I start my FSX I do my flight in one session. I do not go to bed just because I am in the weird opinion that I must fly with 1x. I go to bed after I have landed and turned off my Computer. And no VA could forbid me this procedure. If you think you are more "real" than me with your 1x flying then you are very wrong! You are just wasting time Lukas Dalton
August 12, 201312 yr I've discussed this feature with the wife and she's not happy about it. It seems once I'm in cruise, I begin helping around the house. She'd like to know if there's a password lock on that feature..... Bob Donovan - KBOS
August 12, 201312 yr If you think you are more "real" than me with your 1x flying then you are very wrong! You are just wasting time Not sure if troll is troll. Anyway, some people like to do fuel calc along the way and all the other things that come with being an airline pilot. Others may actually get full ATC along the whole route which forbids anything higher than 1x. So the short of it, the people who fly 1x on an OTP flight doing the things an airline captain would be doing on said flight are actually more real than you.
August 13, 201312 yr Personally I adore the auto step-climb feature, it means I don't have to actually be there to attend the longhaul flight, and the only times I have to fly the aircraft is the crucial parts. Good for the VA flying I do Joe Barton

No. I do fuel calculation too and other things. But I remain seated for the flight and am not doing laundry, cooking of even go sleeping. so the more real aspec is a joke. but everybody shall fly like they prefer but stop telling us time accelerators that they are so awesome. you are not. period. August 14, 201312 yr stop telling us time accelerators that they are so awesome. you are not. period. First of all I didn't say anything like that at all, but I know your comment wasn't directed at me even though you quoted my post. Second, I had no idea there was a war brewing between time accelerators and real timers.
August 14, 201312 yr So the short of it, the people who fly 1x on an OTP flight doing the things an airline captain would be doing on said flight are actually more real than you. Not really.. You can still do all those things regardless of time acceleration. Additionally, pilots on long-hauls take frequent breaks and have set sleep patterns. Second, I had no idea there was a war brewing between time accelerators and real timers. There always has been, and unfortunately it will never end.
August 14, 201312 yr I had no idea there was a war brewing between time accelerators and real timers lmao. Yeah, there's been arguments before ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dana Palmer KJAC
