August 10, 201312 yr P3D is not dX10-compatible. There is no DX-10 mode in it, or any way to enable it. It doesn't give you a better performance ( if you keep following your fps counter ) than fsx, but even at lower fps it is smooth / stutter free! The blurring is almost nonexistent. I used DX10 with FSX and liked it, but I'd rather wait for P3D v2 with DX11. Thx for the kind words Henry and Pirata! August 10, 201312 yr I like the one that reminds me of the commodore 64, for nostalgia reasons. Lugano in my 3 Civil sims... Sorry for the not very exact positioning... P3D: P3DLugano.jpg XPX: xpxLugano.jpg ELITE PREMIUM 8.6 EUR1: eliteLugano.jpg
August 10, 201312 yr Is P3D DX10 compatible? I've been looking at some of the FTXG pictures and I must admit it really looks awesome. How're the blurries compared to FSX? five, jcomm, robert, anybody? even some airports in P3D had a little makeover, for example: CYYZ in fsx looks bad with just default buildings but when I landed at CYYZ in P3D, it looked like a semi-payware airport with better textured buildings/hangars....no joke! Performance in P3D for me is amazing: no stutters and no blurries with autogen maxed out on FTXG.
August 10, 201312 yr He doesn't know, that my opinions are actually undeniable fact..... YMMD So ... you are something like .... GOD himself???? Regarding the "development slowing down" discussion: summer might be a reason (but I don't think so). Is it really slowing down, or are people only feeling like this? For 10.20, 10.21, 10.22 we were used to have releases every few weeks. Since release of 10.22 (2/3 months ago, or so?) we haven't heard anything new about the next version. So, is development really slowing down, are the developers having a break? What would people think about the (meanwhile historic) 2-3 years development cycle of the other sim? Did they think "are the developers still alive, or are they pushing up the daisies?" Every bigger step (like from 10.11 to 10.20, from 10.22 to 10.30, FS9 to FSX etc.) needs longer time - quite simple, isn't it? So, be patient ... and be pleased when the next version comes with bigger improvements. August 10, 201312 yr I think it is fair to wonder what is happening. After all, it is one of the most expensive sims on the market with promises to finish it. Expensive enough for them to take the summer off? I hope not! I too have noticed that not a lot has been happening as I come here often to see the updates that a number of people post links to as things happen on the dev blogs etc. When we had frequent updates at least we had frequent talk from the devs about what would be happening in the future. With no links to updates here I just assume the devs are not giving out information either. Did I ever wonder where the next update was coming from FSX? No, not like I do for xplane because it wasnt sold to me in the same state as xplane with promises to have basic things like atc finished. I remind you that we are nearly two years down that track.
August 11, 201312 yr I can wait for the news, and I believe the team at LR also has their vacation period... Meanwhile I am finally able to keep busy with something new in X-Plane 10 - the TorqueFix - and flying in P3D, with the Aerosoft AXE, or the PMDG 737 NGX... Here's a couple of shots from a flight, Madrid - Lisbon, suing RWW injected by the excellent FSGRW, and scenery painted by the remarkable FTX Global :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
August 11, 201312 yr I just recently formatted my PC for couple purposes, mainly to clean out my sims for what i've decided now. Followed NickN's fsx bible (funny thing how people don't notice his caution that it's just to spice the guide up abit, for comic relief... So it wouldn't be too boring to read) and got my windows set up nicely now. For sims i now got FSX set up with NGX, AXE and MJCQ400, UTX and some airport addons to fly around europe. FSX is reserved for airliners only. Then XPX; I got my carenado aircraft, OSM data and photoscenery for europe... + truscenery airports. That's it  And so I have my sims set up for when I want to fly IFR, VFR or helicopters even. :yahoo:
August 11, 201312 yr Exactly! August 12, 201312 yr Using Shade for FSX can fix that. It will make the shadows darker, much nicer in my opinion. Alexis Mefano
August 12, 201312 yr Shade is nice indeed! Took the 777 for a quick jaunt at FL380 earlier on in XP. Unfortunately at FL320 I saw the dreaded XP reality bubble, and even with the Taburet "fix" it killed the immersion there and then, despite the astoundingly good T7 from Flightfactor. I hope one day we will see an FTXG style landscape in XP with good visibility and weather depiction like we have now in FSX + FTXG + FSGRW. Roll on v10.99 !!!
