August 16, 201312 yr EDIT: Be careful though, lest someone here might accuse you of exhibiting poor FS airmanship, by listening to music in what's supposed to be a sterile cockpit environment... No probs for me. I'm used to non-sterile cockpits. God knows how many germs there are in the club's old PA-28 Cadet... Rolf Lindbom

August 16, 201312 yr I was just making a joke regarding sterile cockpits. And I know what you were referring to. Rolf Lindbom

August 16, 201312 yr Hi, I'm more than a bit confused. In the first post here it says: "(remember that the G1000 has a whole radio/music suite, integrated)" I'd like to remember this but I never knew it. Could someone please elaborate. Jim F.
August 16, 201312 yr I'd like to remember this but I never knew it. Could someone please elaborate. The real G1000 has (or can have) that: haven't seen it in FSX yet.
August 16, 201312 yr LOL, I still reguarly listen to song from GTA III and San Andreas...Freakin' awesome songs! Great, I'm on Youtube now listening to Flashback FM and nostalgia-ing hard. THANKS FOR NOTHING! ... "She's on fireee!" 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
August 16, 201312 yr I just stick an earbud in my ear (under my headphones), plug in the iPod or the tablet, and go for it. That way, there are independent Volume controls for the music and the Sim. It's nice to have tunes playing in the background; I prefer Jazz myself. EDIT: Be careful though, lest someone here might accuse you of exhibiting poor FS airmanship, by listening to music in what's supposed to be a sterile cockpit environment... It might be worth getting a cable with a 3.5" jack on both ends, plugging your iPod into your PC's microphone jack, and tuning loopback sound on. That way you would only need the one pair of headphones. That's what I use because it allows not only independent audio control but also the ability to change tracks without having to deal with yet another thing running on my PC. The real world G1000 avionics unit has a full audio music suite, able to play long range / digital radio stations, and auxiliary fed music.

That's what I use because it allows not only independent audio control but also the ability to change tracks without having to deal with yet another thing running on my PC. That's what I was shooting for, too. I have a single earbud that runs both channels through the earbud, and it works great under my PC headset (I have an extension plugged into the headphone jack on my PC speakers for my headset). I can switch from the iPod, to FM on the tablet, to the baseball game on my table radio without putting any load on the PC... I mean, what's better on a leisurely evening flight than listening to a ball game?

"and she burns through the night at the speed of light....eeeeeeheeeee....shes on fire, fire, fire, fire, fire, fireeeeeeee". Oh I will always have hope in Rockstar and their radio stations. Yes, my Garmin 696 portable GPS had XM satellite radio. We're older, and prefered the 60's. Combined with a good audio panel, and electronic noise limiting headphones....it was great! Used it all the time.

Putting real songs into a game is one thing, but creating everything from scratch and mking it sound really good...mad props! 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
