August 17, 201312 yr I know the NGX and upcoming 777 have the option to pause at Top of decent however what about when a failure occurs? I don't generally fly with failures on but with the superb looking checklists I think it would be interesting to see how well I could follow these checklists and react to the problem. My only problem is that when I get a chance to fly I cannot guarantee I am going to be able to sit at the PC for the entire flight even with the new accelerated time feature, so would it not be an idea to have the sim pause at a failure so as you don't miss it and come to a monitor saying you have crashed? August 17, 201312 yr Why not press "P" to pause the simulation so you can read your checklists prior to un-pausing? Matthew Bellette
August 17, 201312 yr Why not press "P" to pause the simulation so you can read your checklists prior to un-pausing? That's not the idea he had in mind. He was referring to having the sim pause when a failure occurs, so when he returns to the flight from whatever he was doing, he can deal with it. Erik L.
August 17, 201312 yr That's a good idea. I don't usually have failures in but I too age it would be interesting to see how I can handle it with the new checklist system. Fly UK - Head of Operations Jordan McTiffin Jordan McTiffin
August 17, 201312 yr that is a excellent idea Mike Avallone [email protected],Corsair H115i cooler,ASUS 2080TI,GSkill 32GB pc3600 ram, 2 WD black NVME ssd drives, ASUS maximus hero MB
August 18, 201312 yr I asked this same thing regarding the new acceleration feature a couple of days back, but never got a response. Hopefully it is implemented, as a failure developing while using the acceleration feature sounds intense. Alfredo Terrero

The acceleration slows down during complex turns, climbs etc I'm sure it would do the same for a failure.
August 18, 201312 yr The acceleration slows down during complex turns, climbs etc I'm sure it would do the same for a failure. And if it doesn't, the failure might just turn into a complex turn and spiral descent, which would trigger the 1x rate  Trent Hopkinson, 2015 Crewmember of www.mangrove.com.au WorldFlight sim Youtube channel www.youtube.com/user/musicalaviator
August 18, 201312 yr Author I don't know how hard it would be to implement something like this it might even be an idea for a service pack in the future I don't know. I just thought it could be handy to people who cant sit at their pc even with time acceleration but still want to try their hand at dealing with failures. Scott Griffiths

August 18, 201312 yr Ah Ah . Imagine at T/O -Power Set -100kt -V1, Rotate (engine 1 fail) Pauseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. lol. See U Marc
August 18, 201312 yr Commercial Member +1!! @Marc: could be enabled/disabled in the FMC when you plan to leave the computer. During takeoff I would hope you're flying! Best regards, Robin.
