A2A Accu-Sim Cessna 172 may be out "within the week"

Featured Replies

If the GAs are very successful for A2A, they may announce others, like A2A's company plane, the Comanche.  Maybe a multi such as a Baron or something.

Some day I hope they announce a Beech 18 or DC-3, one can only hope hahaha.  Otherwise the F-104 sounds really awesome.

Man, I would kill for an Accusimed Beech 18... :p0128: :clapping:

Yesterday I got the P-40, my first A2A Accusim aircraft... What an experience!!

The realism is beyond words, it's not FSX anymore.

Then we can look forward to the Cherokee series, which will be awesome.

I have to admit that it's the Cherokee series I'm really looking forward to.  Still I expect to buy the 172 as much to show support for a new developer doing GA planes with this level of detail as anything (new, that is, to GA).

That's awesome man, welcome to the accusim experience, it is addictive.  The P-40 is my favorite A2A plane for sure.  It has so much character.  It is like a flying vintage stick shift jeep, rugged, raw, and very manual.  It's a warbird that has the personality of a bush plane.  You can take it to runways that are too small for the P-51 and P-47.  The Spitfire can handle short runways too but will overheat easily if you plan on departing again right away after landing.   That and I can't imagine John Belushi's 'Wild Bill Kelso' character being in anything else except the P-40.  B)   The others are very awesome too and if you get them, you will learn to understand the differences in design, systems, quirks and so on.

Concerning release timing - I don't know that this means anything (past performance is no guarantee of future results, as they say in those ads for investments), but for what it's worth, the A2A Cub was released over Labor Day weekend in 2009 - on Sunday morning, if I recall correctly.

Again, not sure if this is meaningful - to my knowledge, A2A has never used a set time or day-of-week for release (the way Dreamfleet used to do).  But it does mean that you might be risking your Friday night and Saturday if all you do is sit at your computer and hit "refresh..."

Unless you find that entertaining, of course... in which case, have at it...   B)

+1.  The three of them (P-40, Spitfire and P-51) have really distinctive personalities.  It's been a pleasure wrestling with each of them.

I just go flying in other planes, the point is to enjoy, not obsess, eh?

Though I will enjoy reading the equipment manuals tonight, whether the C172 is out, or not.

Agreed on the P40! Though I love being on the hairy edge with the Spitfire, too; the P40 is a breeze to fly by comparison.

The P-51 was released on Memorial Day 2012 as I recall, so they do have a track record of releasing on holidays... hmm ;)

I remember the P-40 release was announced the day before....the servers were swamped because everyone was ready for it.  When the P-51, there was no release announcement until actual release time.  The P-51 download went much more smoothly :)

Can you imagine what would happen to PMDG servers if they announced 777 24 hours in advance? LOL

How on Earth do you guys remember release dates?? .... Do you have them marked on old callenders and keep them for posterity! .... I can't remember what I was doing last week!

I won't buy this plane ! I was expecting a V12 Rolls-Royce Merlin or a Pratt & Whitney R-2800. Well you would need two American guys on the back seats to keep the CG in limit, but instead we have a rubbish 4 cylinders engine...

Just joking, I can't wait for the release ;)

Why Americans?  Is that because most Americans are obese?

Dave your young, priding one self on memory re call comes with age . After a certain age one tends to look backwards rather than forward.....or babble on without making sense like Im doing right now

"...proper sparkplug management techniques"...now theres a sentence I'd never thought I hear from a FSX addon:-) I thought my 172 days were over, but I'm actually more exited about this than the T7 from PMDG!

I need to read up on it, I know the basics, but often skip the mag check as you know they are working. So if the control linkages must be checked, does that mean there is potential for a failure or perhaps poor control if not maintained correctly?

I don't own any A2A aircraft so it's all new to me.
