August 29, 201312 yr @Sourwop. This is off topic of me but "If you have to ask the price then it means you can't afford it" is one of the most ridiculous and presumptuous quotes that I personally know. If you are asking the price then it means you have concern for your money. It often has nothing to do with your bank account status. I always like to know where my money is going and how much. People who ask the price are clearly thinking about their money, which is a very good thing. Something the "if you have to ask" people probably are not familiar with, IMHO.My rant for the night. August 29, 201312 yr Cool thread - feelings, relationship counselling and even some flight Sim. That's the "pre-release week": emotions are sooooo high ... What happened to AVSIM

That was a "saying" I should have put quotes around it a definition maybe is called for it was "sellers saying" I didn't count on the fact I would have to define it. Based on historical rhetoric in reference to PMDG pricing its not rocket science. Its common sense. Maybe I need to define it, is it going to cost less than the MD11? Common sense, again is it going to cost less then the 747? is it going to cost less than the NGX? If you have to keep asking the price then you really cant afford it simple thought process. Doesn't mean you cant buy it doesn't mean really a thing. But you bet when its all said and done this thing with the 300ER added to it later will be $150+ add FS2crew full version of RAAS, A over hyped full planning program that's $60......... Gus Yanno
August 29, 201312 yr She actually tried landing the original PMDG 744 and managed not to break too many things. People would've survived. I was impressed. Impressive indeed. My girlfriend gave up after she managed to crashed during takeoff. hahaha And I made the mistake of joking that her flying just cost her a plane, to which she replied "No, flight simulator never cost me anything. Can't say the same about you." ouch :excl: But seriously guys, don't even think you have control of your relationship. They own sex. So if they're not happy, you're not happy. And the opposite is not necessarily true. So I just make her happy by showing that when I'm flying I'll leave her alone to see her friends, do her nails and watch stupid stuff on TV. 777 guaranteed! Pedro Espindola

And look where this thread went lol very entertaining. Aint gonna buy all the extra payware addons associated with the PMDG e.g FS2Crew etc etc. and funnily enough keeping off topic im married too, my mrs brings me inflight meal service when im flying, awwww aint that nice....thats when I give her - her 1 hour of freedom - out of the cage - into the kitchen - SIMPLE lol. August 29, 201312 yr I actually thought that people perceive you to have not grown up when playing silly little pc games when they would look at us flying the simulator. Now, although that is sometimes true in my environment, I mostly find that when I talk about it or show it to someone, they are genuinely interested and ask a lot of different questions about it. I'm not in a relationship, but do have a very special friend to whom I just happened to mention at a glance that I am interested in flight simulation and she started asking all these questions, and I eventually started to show her all the PMDG stuff, how they compare to the real aircraft and a few lessons on how things work and how aircraft fly. Funny thing is, she always wants to know more! Now, she is also interested in getting into the simulation thing! I even have professional colleagues who are far older than I am that find my passion for flight simulation interesting and want me to show this unique world to them. Just depends on the company you keep I suppose! Kind regards Werner Gillespie CYB2400Proud member of Cyber Air Virtual AirlinesAVSIM Staff Member
August 29, 201312 yr For me the price is not important. Although, with the current exchange rate (more than R10.00 to the US Dollar here in South Africa), it's going to be a lot of money. But who cares, the PMDG 777 is still going to be a bargain. I have full full control of the credit card and nobody will know... I think  Johann van Rhyn

I know I will get so much enjoyment and hours, and hours of fun with it that it will be worth it every penny. Lennart

August 29, 201312 yr My girlfriend is very reasonable about my flight simming habits; she will occasionally watch and ask the odd question about operating procedures, instrumentation or systems (she now knows why crankcase breathers are needed!) Having said that, all the money I spend on the sim and computers is my money. She also wants to learn to fly in the sim, so she practises traffic circuits in a Beech Bonanza every so often, with my assistance. Unfortunately when things start go wrong she tends to panic and freeze up rather than rectify the situation! We were near an airport recently and she actually asked me if we could do some plane spotting, and when I asked her if she wanted to go, she replied she wanted to stay longer despite being cold (my friends do not believe this story)! She could be a keeper? ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.
