PMDG 747V2 Release date

Featured Replies

I can never figure out why the answer 'It will be done when it's done' is so hard to accept.  I mean we just got a really nice 777, can folks manage at least a year of enjoyment out of it before hounding PMDG for release dates?

I really am looking forward to the DC-6 too, but this 777, along with my favorite GAs and Warbirds in my hangar will keep me occupied for a long while.  PMDG can take their time with the DC-6 and 747v2....they will be done when they are done.

I really hope PMDG takes a nice vacation when the 777 dust settles.  They deserve it.

ADX clearly adverts its "Billboard" as a best guess based upon a wide variety of factors.  Anyone who plans their life around a supposed release date on the ADX "Billboard" has bigger problems than judging print media.  RSR himself stated in Germany at the Aerosoft convention last summer that the 777 would be out by the end of last year.  Release dates are obviously magic wishful thinking in the flight sim world.  I think this all stems from an over the top comic Dom posted on ADX disparaging PMDG and AVSIM.  Water under the bridge ... I get quite a lot of valuable information from ADX ... flight sim companies I've never heard of anywhere else.  I would hope everyone would just keep doing the best job they could, minimize the speculation, gather around the campfire, and sing Cumbaya!

This describes my use of "substantive".  You have to understand that they are relative "newbies" to use a US Army phrase. It's not only unpolished when referring to PMDG, the whole setup screams "we also want a piece of the pie". They are learning.

I missed that as I only heard of ADX when someone here reported that ADX did in fact publish a release date. I was not aware of the dustup you reference. Maybe they deserved the "backhand"?

So one website posted some anticipated release dates and now all is wrong? People do it here all the time. At least they are talking about your products. In my opinion there's no need to trash others in our small community just because they posted some wrong information. Facts should talk for themselves. If ADX published wrong info, just say it's wrong and people are going to know that they are posting wrong information and are going to make their own decision about future visits. Isn't that better than to go around saying what other people are doing is trash?

I'd say early to mid 2014. they're just optimizing the existing 747 as a FSX only plane, the 8i/F "expansion" will come out in 2016 Since those have to be accurately recreated (the existing are far too basic.)

How'd you come to that conclusion?

747v2 is all-new. No part of the original QoS is to be used.

Giving out a release date when you don't even have a render...let alone a beta is a bad move.

Well, good point, except that PMDG have been doing this since I can remember (and that was before the first 747).

I think you are mistaking RSR presentation for Lefteris Kalamaras presentation on A320... but yeah.

Except it is not just that. And "website" is not "people" - if I came here, and told everyone 747 will be out by Christmas, nobody will care, but if ADX posts that, people seem to think it is true.

In my opinion, there's no need not to trash someone just because the community is "small".

Well, the point of my post was that there's no need to trash anybody and let the facts speak for themselves. It appears to me that in today's world facts don't matter anymore. It's all about the presentation. Even if everybody knows what facts are it's the presentation what matters to people.

In my opinion, ADX didn't do any harm to PMDG by posting some anticipated release dates (like many other forums and websites do constantly), they won't have less customers because of that but Ryan did damage ADX reputation a bit since he's working for PMDG and enjoys some respect in our community and said the mentioned website is trash which can result in less visitors to the website. Just because they speculated a bit about one of their products.

Just silly.

Any official response from PMDG tech team on the release or even status of the the B747-400V2? There was an official posting from PMDG last year that the B747 will be released not long after the B777X. Something like 2 months after the release of the B777X. This should mean that it must be in BETA by now.

I actually look at ADX daily to see what's going on.  I found that they listed an airport as "released for FSX" when in fact it hadn't been.  I simply sent them a message to let them know and they updated the site with the correct info.

They are trying hard and having some fun with the hobby at the same time which really is what it's all about.

I understand the serious side of our hobby as well as most but you've also got to relax a little and enjoy.

Just gotta play it cool.  The T7 has only just come out and PMDG would take a well earned break.  It will happen, all in good time.

Guys,

The 777 has just been released, and it is amazing.

So fly that for a while or watch the youtube vids for a while and then you can start on 744

Could not agree more....relax and enjoy the 777 that so many were asking the same questions about and its now here - enjoy it!

Jeff Kucera

That website is the equivalent of a trashy supermarket tabloid magazine. Trust me, they're the last people we'd ever give a release date to - they're just making stuff up.

Actually guys. Do you know the sequence of release? Is it the 777-300ER extension first then the B747V2 or the other way round?

Oh, man, did you just speculate about PMDG product? Some people here are going to eat you alive now :t0106:

Just kidding...

No la. Just kidding! PMDG must do as good if not better job of the PMDG B747V2 than the PMDG B777X. Lets see how to even better the best!

Best regards,

I think someone representing a top-tiered company like PMDG should keep their comments off of the forums if they can't be positive and supportive.    I can see if a blogger has published some damaging information about a company.    To strike back is legit.

You have point...

Focus, the subject is about PMDG 747V2!

well, you too...

But I guess the ultimate point has that guy with the padlocks photo... How many times??......

Some journalistic type sleuthing has revealed a clue.  I think the 747v2 is close.  This screenie was grabbed from one of the first available videos.

Already dismissed.  An early version of the ops center included files for all of the aircraft initially.

I've not seen ADX have anything negative to say about PMDG.

Clearly you haven't seen their comics...
