bugs during cruise (screen freezes)

Featured Replies

Hello,

I noticed during the cruise when I set the acceleration time 2 or plus, there is a recurrent bug the screen freezes and I can not do anyrhing exept turn of completly the computeur by the ON Button.(Or force FSX to stop)

Is there any solutions, What could be the source of the problem? Maybe the screen automatic shutdown? I don t really know.

Some help will be really appreciate.

Regards

I did my first flight today, tutorial 1, and i also encountered the screens freezing problem using the time compression settings. If i undock the screen it is updating in live time but when dcoked they do not change, not any of them.

I managed to get the working again by cycling some views and also trying to re-inject weather by OpusFSX. Sometimes worked sometimes it didnt.

As far as i can see at the moment OpusFSX and the T7 dont really get along very well.

It needs to be tested more and confirmed, but it seems that realtek sound driver was causing that on some systems, including mine. I need to test this on some more 3-4 flights, but i removed realtec driver completely(uninstall, Ccleaner to clean registry, restart PC)and no more freezing, i did 2 long haul flights using time compresion today. Also, no difference in sounds with windows default driver and FSX.

So, if you have this driver installed It worths trying, you can allways put that driver back

I just tried that while in cruise over the Atlantic, so about 4 hours into a flight and it worked fine with no issues.

If not realtek driver, it could be Ezdok, or both!

It seems that Ezdok don't like time compresion before cruise, at least on my PC. I activated time compresion climbing through arround FL200 and this is the second time when it freezes(second time when i activated time compresion during climb too) - i can't move my view, i can't press anything, and saitek imputs don't work too. But i didn't get stutters or periodical freezing, flight was smooth in fact.

I just saved the flight, restarted FSX(Ezdok was not responding for 2min so i killed process)and i loaded saved flight again - i like this works excelent on 777, you can continue without problems

For me everytime I set the FSX hours, weather, map, menu during the flight there are some big bugs with black screen or I see the planes 10 times or there are some cuts in the cockpit. And I have to press 20 times alt+enter to recover the standard image with no bugs!

Is there any solution?

I tried to desinstall EZdok but it's the same!

I had a screen freeze last night going from KEWR to VHHH and wasn't using acceleration at all.  The flight was about 7 hours old (I was in bed) when it froze.

I knew it froze, because the ACARS for my VA was disconnected (7 hours recorded), because it couldn't connect to FSUIPC.

Also the Realtek interface had popped up on my monitor, so I'm assuming it had something to do with that.

The flight had resumed, so I have no idea how long the freeze was, but it had to be more than 10 or seconds for the ACARS to disconnect.

By screen freeze I mean PFD EICAS etc. the actual FSX is fine just the T7 cockpit screens themselves stop updating.

That's my issue so far.

My sim sometimes freezes after a few seconds of running the sim. I seems te occur more often when ezdok is running, but I'm not sure.

I've had a freeze once that I know of. It was where every screen in the cockpit plus the clock froze. I remember because I started the elapsed time when I taxied onto the runway and I was climbing. I got to about 22 minutes ET and I got up to get a drink. I came back about 10 minutes later and it still said 22 minutes ET and the Zulu time hadn't changed. That's when I realized every screen was froze. It took a handful of clicks in the FMC before every screen (including the FMC) snapped back to where they should be.

Thanks!

It happens to me without using time compression or EZdok. Usually I have to hit "A" to cycle through the views to fix the problem.

I've seen two freezes during a single Auto Cruise stretch, but took NO ACTION to see what would happen. FSX carried on after 2-5 minutes as if nothing had happened and the flight was completed normally. That was at 8x cruise for an extended period of time. No freezes anywhere else, just in auto cruise...I didn't think too much of it considering what the system was dealing with.

I was having lockups during cruise requiring shutdown and restart (running full-screen mode) but seemed to have solved it last night by turning off some Accufeel settings for the 777, especially turbulence.
