September 8, 201312 yr Well, reading some people mentioning the possibility of a Video Card issue, I have something to add here: I used to have a very weird issue with my old 285GTX (Now 670GTX)... I remember sometimes, using some certain drivers from NVIDIA, my GPU clock went down dramatically after my monitor going blank and coming back after more or less 5 seconds. No matter what I did, I'd have to restart the computer to get video's card stock speed back !! I never had an answer for that but I remember that once I found an old driver that never gave me this sort of trouble, I kept it and never changed until I got the 670GTX and never had this issue, thank God ! -_- This issue was only running FSX in some intense use ! September 8, 201312 yr I followed a sample overclock that came with the CPU and it has been just fine since i bought the system 2-3 years ago running 60 degrees celcius at max power. It has been working fine for that long it went off the charts when i installed the T7 and THATS why i did a reinstall i thought that would cure the problem but it didnt. Kind regards This could be the problem! You never ever install Windows on a PC with an overclocked Bios!! That could cause all sorts of problems. Perfect way to get a corrupt Windows install ! You need to go back to basics my man! Reset the Bios to no overclock And THEN install Windows and FSX. Dont start overclocking untill you see normal performance while not clocked. In your case it might be better to stay away from overclocking all together untill you do know what you are doing. You are jumping back and forth faster than we can follow up on what you are doeing...Reinstalling FSX, erasing it again, trying that again, reinstalling everything including windows again.....pfffff, and all without reading how to do all that properly! STOP! Get rid of this urge :"Im ripping the hair of my whole body because of this i want to fly and i want to do that now" Go back to basics! No overclock! read and plan what you have to do. It will take you a few days of reading and installing if you want to do it right. If you are serious and willing to do that I can give you a link, otherwise I am out of here and you run a good chance of never figuring out why you keep having problems! Rob Robson
September 8, 201312 yr Commercial Member i dont know exactly what everything does and even if i read about it its to complex for me to understand im sorry i dont know much about computers. Since you're going the format and re-install route, suggest you first restore your BIOS to default spec. That's right, no overclocking for now. Just because you've been running fine with it doesn't mean it's going to behave like that forever. Power supplies let you down over time. Reformat, re-install Windows then Vanilla FSX. If you don't get at least 40-50 with any defaut aircraft with FSX default settings, you probably have some hardware not behaving as expected. Remember, re-installing the OS with an overclocked CPU is generally a bad idea. You could have all sorts of file corruptions going on unnoticed. Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com
September 8, 201312 yr Mattias, listen to the advise in posts 78 & 79. Very sound advise and Gerrald has forgotten more than I know about software. If you are as bright as me, the only way to fix it is to do a lot of reading and ask a lot of questions. Regards, Rick Hobbs

September 9, 201312 yr Hi Mattias, Few months ago, I got my FSX all screwed up and the only way to fix it was formatting both disks and start all over again. I used the following guide from Nick http://www.simforums.com/forums/topic34141_post198187.html#198187 it also provides many other helpfull links. Now, to follow through all this, it took me 2 weeks to rebuild everything, as I had only few hours to spent each night for this (between work and taking care of my family). I have to say it was worth the hassle and my NGX runs quite smooth (with no traffic) and so does my 777 with addon airports like EFHK and OMDB and many others. Reading through the forums sounded very very frustrating to me, but once I decided that what the heck, I will try it at least once, i followed everything to the letter and expanded the lifetime of my rig. With my system, which is now coming 4 years old, I can still run FSX:) I quess what Im trying to say, there is a reason for your topnotch system to act like that and I quess the only way is to start over from scratch and follow all these extremely good tweaking advices. If you said your Novice, Im probably a newbie then as I do not understand much about tweaking or overclocking etc. However, I managed to follow that guide through and it helped me a lot. I wish you all the best - and let me say, the PMDG 777 is absolutely amazing piece of software... Cheers Thomas Schmiedeke Email me

September 9, 201312 yr My suggestion is to find a pc shop that has a interest in fsx etc, tell him your problems and take you pc to him to fix for you, it may cost you some money but it will save you lots of going around in circles as you are now doing..imo. September 9, 201312 yr I would dl that if i knew a store in Sweden thats interested in that. Kind regards I am sure you are at least smarter than me and I managed to build and set up my rig, that does a pretty good job. What I am saying is, if you have the time and patience to read, research and do it yourself, you will probably end up with a better result than paying for it. Remember one absolute golden rule: DO NOT over clock your new set up until you have EVERYTHING finished and your PC, Software and especially FSX and its addons are all running stable and performing properly. Good luck and regards, Rick Hobbs
