Pacific Islands Simulations

Featured Replies

I just went to their website and this is what I got in the homepage.

ALL DEVELOPMENT PLANS AND PROJECTS HAVE BEEN PUT ON HOLD. WE ARE CLOSED INDEFINITELY
BYE!

Could anyone have idea as to why they are on hold as of this moment?  Last time I check, they were working for RPLL scenery.

It's such a waste that another FS addon company would shutdown suddenly without any notices.

I'm pretty sure Pac Sim has a very small staff.  Maybe one had a family emergency or something?  Sad to hear that, because I love their Rarotonga scenery and was looking forward to Manila as well.

Ah man that's a real shame.   :(

I really like Graeme and PacSim; quality products, great prices and superb support and attitude.

I hope that whatever is happening, it works out ok for them, and hopefully we'll see them back.

... Words fail me. I was IMMENSELY looking forward to their RPLL scenery seeing as I had built up quite the PAL fleet. Guess I'll have to wait some more for someone to finally give Manila some love. :(  I'd be more emphatic to whatever caused them to shut down, but the way they quit/the farewell message is so blunt and out of nowhere I'm really not given much to go on. If it really is a family emergency or some other dramatic event, it's beyond saying that I hope all goes well for them; but if it's a small company that just decided it had enough, I'll be deeply upset they didn't at least finish RPLL/their running projects. It wouldn't be the first time this happens, a small group that starts ambitiously on a project, only to vanish after a while with all the effort/manhours down the drain.

Their forums have closed as well, so I guess they're really calling it quits?

But you can still buy existing sceneries from their website and "receive direct download and convenient aftermarket service assistance."

I am not a fan after less than favorable experiences with earlier products, but I do hope all is well and it's not a serious, long lasting issue.

Best, Michael

Wow, I too just purchased Rarotonga, I was hoping that Manila wasn't far behind. As said earlier if it is a family issue, best of luck, and hope we see them back. Their quality is really top shelf.

I saw progress shots on Manila and I think they would have had it out by the end of this year.  Sure hope they come back soon.

I hope they'll at least finish RPLL and other running projects. They had all the groundwork done, and they were working on T1. It seemed to be coming along nicely for a Q4 2013 release. A lot of people at the PFSG were looking forward to it. It'd be great to have it done at their quality; I find myself flying to Chubu very often, just because of the airport.

Kind of a strange message isn't it?

I loaded up last sale. Customer support out standing...

Maybe its been hacked

This is sad news indeed!

I really hope too that all is okay with the developers and their families - but in case needed: All the very best of luck and wishes to them from my side as well!

I had purchased some of their sceneries and with Rarotonga, Pacific Island Simulations did an amazing job in my opinion.

Really hope things will be okay again soon!

Cheers, Christoph

Enjoy flying and happy landings.
