Tried two different TNCM addons and have a different issue with each.

 

1. TNCM Update 1 by Robert Fitz has two hangars on the west end ramp near the approach end of Rwy 10. The hangar objects are there, but completely black, i.e. no textures. It seems odd since one of the .bmp files shows them in green and blue. All other scenery in his addon renders correctly. They look like they might come from EZ-Hangar. If they are, where would I install the EZ Hangar scenery and textures? I got no reply from Robert Fitz email address, so suspect he may have moved on to other things.

 

2. Juliana2.zip for TNCM by Christian Deblond for FS2004 was a great work when I used FS9. But now, FSX crashes when I set TNCM as my airfield with that scenery area added. I have plenty of other scenery addons from FS9 installed in FSX with no problems, so can't figure out what might be in this addon that has such a catastrophic reaction.

That's not quite correct...I have some problems, like taxiway signs in wrong places, but FSX didn't crash when I added them.

Buy the version from FlyTampa and all your St Maarten problems will be gone. Plus it comes with the island of Saba and St Barts.

+1  You can buy TNCM alone or the package which includes Saba and St. Barts.  It's a little more expensive for the package but it's well worth it, unless you're only into airliners.

Sorry, can't help you either. Sounds like missing textures.

 

I will only join the choir to tell you that FlyTampa's payware scenery is well worth the cost. The airports at Saba and St. Barths aren't just nice bonuses, they are two of the most spectacular airports in the world and a real challenge to land and take off from. FlyTampa is the gold standard of airport sceneries as far as I'm concerned.

I second the advice on the payware - there's nothing like FlyTampa's St. Marteen.

 

As for the crashing problem: Have you tried to switch off the default Juliana scenery in the scenery library and leave the crashing one active? I am not sure if this fixes your problem, but you could give it a try.

Thanks for the recommendations for FlyTampa...I didn't know about them, but will certainly check them out.

 

Florian...your suggestion made me put my hand to my forehead and say, "Doh" because I had forgotten FSX had added scenery for St Marten. Will try your suggestion first.

One other question for St Marten TNCM for FSX by Fly Tampa.

 

With the ccurrent updates installed I have the correct runways (textures) 10/28.

However, the AFCAS says the old runways 9/27.

 

Is this correct or did I miss an update to the AFCAD somehow?

Rwy 10/28 is correct...verified by latest satellite imagery of the island.

One more vote for FlyTampa St. Maarten  (including St.Barts!)

Ok, My FSX does have rwy 10/28 in the AFCAD and the scenery.

I did not state this fact properly in my first post .. sorry.

 

The problem I see is for the FS9 version.

I see the runway texture properly as rwy 10/28.

 

However the AFCAD (and FS9) still has the old runway 9/27 (screenshots).

Is that what you have also?

Yep - FT TNCM.  Amazing.

FlyTampa is by far the best option, & as mentioned with St Barths & Saba - both of which are amongst the most dangerous airports in the world so you can really hone your flying skills!

Strange thing is happening when I installed TNCM's newest airport scenery:  Only cargo ramps can be selected; no gates.  I know, with my previous install (W8) I could select gate A1, A2, etc.  Now with W8.1, I only see cargo ramps.  Any suggestions?  I have emailed FlyTampa support, but have not heard back from them.  All advise appreciated.  Warren >> FSX >> W8.1-64bit.

The gates and their positions are still the same, as well as still having the correct parking codes for the airlines to park. The reason they list them as Ramp Mil Cargo Gate A, etc, is that when they list them in the AFCAD as Mil Cargo it makes FSX suppress the ground vehicles for that parking spot. The reason they do this is so that FSX doesn't spawn vehicles there that can interfere with the custom ground vehicles or if your using GEX, interfere with those vehicles.

 

Just ignore the fact that it says Mil Cargo and select which ever gate you want, it will still be the same as before.
