iOS 7 Win or Fail

Featured Replies

I installed iOS 7 on two of my iPads and the iPhone 4S yesterday. Overall it looks pretty good and feels snappy but WHY can you just put 9 apps in a folder.... Just plain stupid!

As for battery drainage my experience is pretty horrible. I've always been able to have my iPad 3 running for ages. But it was about 40% this morning and now six hours later I have 1 % left and I haven't even used it today -  it has been on my desk all day. The iPhone 4S was fully charged in the morning, I have made one phone call and now, again six hours later, it's at 23%... Time to bring out of my Nokia from whatever rock I put it under...

They actually removed the limit for number of apps in a folder, with 9 visible at a time. When you add more you just start swiping to the next group within the folder.

Yep, I realize that but it's just such a waste of display space going from 20 visible icons in a folder to only 9. If you like me have around 150 installed it doesn't make sense, especially on the iPad. Instead they could simply have kept the number of apps visible in a folder AND made it "swipable" to the next group.

Battery drainage problem. Everything else is a win for me.

I plunged last night, and I have to say its not too bad. That being said, I would certainly like an option to darken the OS up a bit. All my aviation apps seam to be working fine,  Aeroweather, iGmap, LiveATC, Flightradar24, Chart Explorer. I can't really comment on battery drainage, having been jailbroken before, battery life left much to be desired.

I'm on the fence as well. Getting new software this day in age means being a beta tester. I'll wait until the dust settles, then maybe...

I love my 4S (shape ,size , glass etc)....I love it even more now with IOS7.

Yet to update the IPad mini but a big thumbs up from me so far.

I'm with you on the 4s. I was a completely anti-Apple iPhone "hater" until I got a 4s two years ago; my wife about fell over when I came home with it. I'm singing a different tune now - this will be the first time since I started using a cell phone in '97 that I have no desire to upgrade or change phones as soon as I'm eligible to upgrade. It does everything I want well, and I've never wanted a near tablet-sized phone.

Big win.  I love it and have no issues so far.

Installed it yesterday on my iPad 4 and iPhone 4S. I really like it. The animations are pretty nice, not mad keen on a few of the new sounds though. In general though, I think Apple is moving in the right direction. Now they need to give me a strong reason to upgrade to a new iPhone. The 4s is great for me.

Best wishes,

Same here. I installed it on my iPhone 5 yesterday and I absolutely love the new look (after some getting used to I must admit).

I used to charge my iPhone only during the night when I'm asleep, but both yesterday and today I needed to charge it again at the end of the afternoon to get through the evening.

Best regards,

No problem on my iPhone 5. Lost a merely 20% during the entire day, I consider that sifficent.

Seeing the same thing, great battery life with a 5 using LTE. I use about 150% of the battery in a day (It gets recharged during lunch) and now I'm making it through the day.
