Does EZdok work with Windows 7 ultimate?

Yes

Andreas Paul

Ezdok does sometimes change views after a long flight, not sure why.

It's Goodbye to EZCA for me.  EZYDOK seems to be very temperamental on my system and only worked some of the time whereas 'Opus' has taken it's place and is a 100% reliable.

Anyone else made this move, and why?

I had no problems with EZDOK, except a not too user-friendly GUI.

I switched to Opus primarily to get better weather, but after some time setting up the cameras as well, I am now very happy and have never looked back

This is an FSX problem, not EZca ;)

I haven't tried Ezdok and never really felt the need for it since I've been using TrackIR for such a long time. That being said, Ezdok perhaps brings advantages when used with TrackIR that I haven't really thought of so I might be missing out on something?!

I have Opus but I found the view settings so difficult to set up that I eventually didn't bother and it also messed up TrackIR for me (probably just a setting I missed).  I also don't use Opus for weather anymore. It's a great software for that, but I still feel FSGRW is superior.

Didn't re-install EZdok on my recent refresh of FSX - maybe I will do but the interface is clunky and it makes using the buttons in the VC almost impossible, which is rather annoying.

Why if I may ask? I dont have any problems using buttons in the VC.

As long as Opus doesn't have a decent mouse look feature I won't switch

Our Live Camera Control was introduced on 25 August and includes support for 6-axis GamePad controllers such as the Sony Playstation 3 GamePad. This is useful for making seat adjustments, roaming about the cockpit, or flying or walking around the aircraft.

Live Camera Control enables you to make adjustments to the current eye point for any VC, 2D, or Custom view using either a GamePad, the arrow keys within the LCC dialog, or any assigned joystick buttons or key sequences specified via the FSXSERVER's Shortcuts dialog.

As long as Opus doesn't have a decent mouse look feature I won't switch. I know that I could use the mouse look feature of FSUIPC or interal FSX but the former is instable and e.g. stops when the mouse pointer is over a button, the latter is unusable either.

Although EZCA occasionally crashes or fails to start a reinstall usually fixes this issue (using the original Flight1 wrapper).

Cheers

Not sure what you mean vis-a-vi mouse look? I use Opus and the FSX mouse look, works perfectly. Oh, and the main reason for Opus Cams is the incredible DHM effects.

But I would like to use the mouse ... :)

How can I reduze the size of the center area with FSX mouse look? Can I reduce it to zero?

Sorry mate, it's not even close. Opus is by far the best for weather (now including site effects), cams and DHM.

Maybe it's down to my setup - I was using RND so the head bobs around a bit naturally through flight. If I then try to do something like adjust a knob on the AP the mouse effectively 'moves' with the bobbing and moves off the knob, stopping the adjustment. Very annoying.

Some like oranges, some like bananas, I used to use Opus and switched to FSGRW, maybe I will switch back, who knows.

Ah, I know what you mean. That's why I reduced the dhm and rdn movements in views other than my pilots view. It would be good if it would stick to a button for a few ms or s so that you can adjust the button easily.

Not completely sure what you mean? Opus comes with the zoom set to 0.70. the mouse zoom is sort of separate i.e. you can pan & zoom but any button you set in Opus immediately takes you back to that view.

Use different cams for knob adjustment and set DHM to off.
