Comments...Any change in the urban landscapes?

It's an improvement and urban ground is less uniformly green now. But my hopes where for even more urban-like ground textures.

Is this town in a "cold and wet" area? Only there new urban textures are available right now.

Edit: Your second screenshot shows very good why X-Plane's urban areas are _not_ plausible. The buildings just line up next to the roads, but there is nothing in between. No parks, no parking lots, no distinct features. In the end it looks like an endless snake with buildings attached. Or a maze.

I don't know what qualifies for "cold and wet" but the first two are close to New York and the third one is close to Stuttgart/Germany. I would assume that both are "Cold and wet". Besides - to me it looks different to the uniformly green ground that was used before for urban areas.

Okay, once you are flying at high flight levels, the new textures really do their work. Here's one picture from 31.000 ft:

Much better than before.

Oh man is that blurry texture ugly. Hope that gets fixed soon! Can't look at it for more than 3 seconds! Makes me feel nauseous

Yes, the new textures appear in the far. This is a big improvement: you now see the shape of the cities, not just a dark green carpet. That was much needed !

I'd like to note that the transition with the far textures is absolutely smooth.

Mariodonick, you're right with the lack of buildings between the roads.

By the way, the cities will work a little bit better, when the DSFs are re-cut. Ben hints at this in his Blog:

http://developer.x-plane.com/2013/10/10-25-beta-1-released/

So either with Laminars "official" city re-cuts (don't ask me what will be covered by that) or with my upcoming HD Mesh Scenery v2 (in 3-4 weeks) you will have another improvement in the looks of cities .... Though, they will never be perfect (depending on the level of you expectations, and your definition of "perfect" this might vary!).

I am also quite sure, that other climates will get their textures too in the 10.25 final (at least I have them already from the internal Laminar repository ... which is a good sign).

Just flew out of Eastern Virginia and ...No...Still have a ways to go. Nothing but houses on a golf course.

@Alpilotx - First of all, I have to say that this is an improvement, so thanks to the Laminar team.  I am wondering if you know if anything can be done with the string of buildings attached to the roads?

Well, I am impressed.  Much improvement with little, if any, hits on FRs.  Yes, I could pick at it and find faults, but overall, it is great.  Thanks Laminar team!

I will say this - for as many travel trailers are still gracing the neighborhoods near my house and home airport, I've poked around some of the lego-brickified airports other than the ones I did. There's some quality work in there... I might need to re-tool my offerings to bring them up to par!
