October 30, 201312 yr Is Robert so self-absorbed that he needs to have his initials as his license plate number? Just being rich does not necessarily mean that person has to drive around in an expensive car. Now if you do, show me the proof that you actually paid for it and it's not leased or you used a mortgage to finance it (just ask the people in Scottsdale)... By jove, you're a laugh a minute!
October 30, 201312 yr Author I hate to bust everyone's bubble, but that is NOT a Monaco license plate  Not sure about Monoco but I was definitely suspicious of his Ontario plates. Maybe he needs to be close to CAE who have a very nice faciiity outside of YYZ. Mark CYYZ
October 30, 201312 yr But you could always zoom out to .50 like a lot of people do so you can see the whole dash board while driving, lol. Or just drive fron the back seat so it looks l like a .50 zoom level. That way it will look like a 2D panel and you wont need to move your head to look around like in real life. Jim Burke nah, he uses some 3rd party camer addon to switch between panels!
October 30, 201312 yr He probably got a great deal on it from Tiger Woods. Of course a new back window with just enough smudgy fingerprint textures. October 30, 201312 yr Dont forget Peyton Manning is on the Buick bandwagon too. True, but his wife didn't smash the back window in with a golf club. FSX: PMDG 744/MD11/JS41/736/737/738/739, CS752/753/763/C130, SimCheck A300, Leonardo MD82, MJC DH8D, Aerosoft CRJ7/CRJ9/A318/A319/A320/A321, RAZBAM Metroliner, ORBX Global, FlyTampa KBUF/OMDB/TNCM/VHHX, ActiveSky Next DCS: A-10C II/F-16C/AH-64D/F-15E/KA-50 III/Mi-24/Persian Gulf/Syria/F-15C XP11: FF 752/753, iniBuilds A306, HotStart TBM900 MSFS: Fenix A320, FS2Crew Fenix A320, FS2Crew Pushback Express, PMDG B77W, ActiveSky FS, Drzewiecki Design UUEE
October 30, 201312 yr Monaco eh? would that be a 1974 Dodge Monaco....with a 440 Magnum plant, cop shocks, cop tires and runs good on regular? "The knack of flying is learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." - Douglas Adams Tejon 'TJ' Stanley
October 30, 201312 yr I'm not gonna buy Buick due to the lack of a 2D cockpit!!! Ah- but what you see from the real "cockpit" of a Buick or any car OR ANY real AIRPLANE- IS 2D !!!! Virtual in Flight Sim is a gimmick relic from the days of tiny monitors in the 14-15" size range - a means of avoiding popups and the unreal look of 2D on a tiny screen. Multiple synched monitors and now very large monitors, have once again obsoleted a simulator display mode- this time Virtual ! No wonder the FAA prohibits Virtual from certified Flight Training Devices. january

Multiple synched monitors and now very large monitors, have once again obsoleted a simulator display mode- this time Virtual ! No wonder the FAA prohibits Virtual from certified Flight Training Devices. january That's a very good point, Jan. (Do you mind me informally calling you 'Jan' ... january? ) Though the real cockpit is three-dimensional, it doesn't work like a 'VC' but rather '2D': In a real cockpit, if you turn your head to the left, the position of the PFD/the landing light switch/the throttles doesn't move to the right - the controls and gauges stay just where they've been. In a flightsim VC with the same head movement, using TrackIR for example, your PFD moves from the lower left corner of your screen towards the lower right corner - PFDs don't do this IRL. Though the use of TrackIR in a VC may be called 'intuitive' it's still not realistic at all. In a real cockpit you move your head the way you want to - the instruments just don't bother. That was actually my biggest issue with two serious attempts at TIR: Whenever I moved my head to grab my cup of coffee, my cockpit would move on the screen! No, I'm not bashing the VC-only developers - easy to define a fixed VC view for my primary monitor and to position a number of 2D popups on my secondary one. Sorry all, for being overly serious, contrary to the tone of this thread - now back to the fun part, please!!! B) What happened to AVSIM
October 30, 201312 yr Word has it, there are click spots on the Buick's dash for pop-up panels :LMAO: Now that is funny :LMAO: CYVR LSZH I7-14700k 64gb 6000Mhz DDR5 ASUS z690 ROG STRIX Gaming RTX 4080 Super,
October 30, 201312 yr Now that is funny PMDG is the most forward thinking company currently out there Dave (Ollie & Boris Becker know that well  ). Who knows what other kinds of secrets they have? I think the Buick's clickspots may just be the tip of the iceberg! Chris Sunseri

This argument again? No wonder the FAA prohibits Virtual from certified Flight Training Devices. They do that for standardization and to encourage physical panel modeling where possible, not because it's not realistic. If 3D on a 2D monitor was unrealistic, and therefore not certifiable, then most simulators out there wouldn't be certified. 3D on 2D is how most simulators depict the environment around the aircraft. Surprise!!! Kyle Rodgers
October 30, 201312 yr They do that for standardization and to encourage physical panel modeling where possible, not because it's not realistic. Probably, Back in the day we used a sertified simulator called Link, which was crap, and we logged those hours... FSX is a pretty good prosedural trainer if you want it to be, certified or not.
October 30, 201312 yr Commercial Member Back in the day we used a sertified simulator called Link, which was crap, and we logged those hours... I have an hour in an ATC 710. To call that "basic" would be a massive understatement. Kyle Rodgers
