Did you update / install all drivers for hardware on your system, like motherboard chipset and graphics drivers? Also, I see you run Windows 8. Did you run the installer as administrator? I always disable "User Account Control" settings within control panel.

Just thinking broadly trying to help you. My gut tells me your fatal error may be operating system related, like drivers, or some setting. If you are running the graphics driver that came with your graphics card on your original setup cd, maybe you can download and install the latest driver available on www.nvidia.com. I believe it's version 331.82.

Yes, I agree, the probability that you had  5 corrupted downloads is near to zero.

Thanks for the help. Yes, I am also suspecting that my problems somewhat system related since I am getting nddll.dll crashes all.  I've updated graphic drivers but not motherboard chipset. Do you think it makes any difference?

I've disabled UAC, running installer as administrator, I've put uiautomationcore.dll into v2 folder also tried some other tricks works for FsX and  P3d 1.4.  I've done system reset and tried it with Win 8.1 also. Still getting same crashes.

Thinking back I had some problems which I couldn't identify also. Eventually it turned out to be malware / spyware that messed things up. My OS ran well, but with certain actions I had major errors. I scanned for malware / spyware, deleted the problems as per the program, and my errors were solved. Maybe you can run a full scan? I used SuperAntispyware, the free version.

There is no 'logic' anyway in spending money on a hobby. If there had to be 'logic' no one would have a hobby.

Yup, we could all spend our time wisely mowing the lawn, doing the dishes, fixing the roof and replacing the floor in the garage! Ah. I just found out why flightsimming is so addictive ...

Might want to try disabling antivirus when installing.

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't have antivirus software other than windows defender. I've turned it off and tried but got same result.

The fool that said:

...I won't be using it for any planned flights in the near future...

Just finished planning a flight for use in P3D2.

If this goes well, save some room for me on the bandwagon, Dave  :Big Grin:

Last gasp... Have you tried installing it completely outside the system's folders, such as in C:\P3D instead?

Word Not Allowed has posted on his blog an autogen comparison between FSX and Prepar3D 2.0, and shows some interesting results. Check it out.

I think that the autogen system is in terrible need of reworking. And I thought we would get better performance thanks to instancing!

That's quite a dramatic drop, especially since he says he didn't have shadows on, or water turned up. I think what your seeing there is the performance difference between windowed mode (P3D V2 is windowed, with the borders removed to appear it's full screen) and FSX full screen. He has a good GPU (GTX 580) but not a top of the line card like the GTX 780 or Titan.

Thanks

It's not the fake fullscreen mode causing this, autogen is simply badly optimised in Prepar3D 2.0, because you need a sparser autogen setting to match the performance of the densest autogen setting in FSX.

But still, they should also bring exclusive fullscreen mode back, because the fake approach is causing a load of many other problems.

Well I don't have that powerful system admitted (3Ghz C2D and GTX 460) but I see a considerable drop in performance with FSX in windowed mode vs Full Screen.

Thanks

You'll need to correct this problem before proceeding.

How did you come to this conclusion?  The AutoGen system is considerably better in P3Dv2.

EDIT: But agree, I would like to see a real Full Screen mode.

Clearly not a finished product yet but masses of potential for future. I'm definitely glass half full on this one.
