December 27, 201312 yr 1.2 is ok but I still don't think that Skymaxx is our answer to XP10 horrible skies. SMP clouds look out of place, sometimes the clouds disappear and reappear, real weather bugs are still occurring, etc. etc. Once REX is released, Skymaxx is finished...everyone will be using REX. I'm sorry but this payware is terrible :( WOW ! Ever see REX clouds disappear and reappear ? I have. I run FSX too and it happens all the time. here's a clue for you nobody but nobody has any info of REX for X-Plane10 coming out yet you seem to be posting all over the place that is in 2014. Now I have nothing against trex because in the sim it;'s designed for it is beautiful but I'm more of a 3D cloud kinda guy. Not into the 2D billboards. Suppose you'll never see this since you're now banned but just had to vent...
December 27, 201312 yr Well, I strongly hope this topic, which started very positively with unwespeeds post announcing a new version of Sky Maxx Pro, can get back to a positive trend... I am sure there are certainly many interesting subjects to debate in turn of this product, and future developments, who knows including even a weather generation / injection component. I am looking forward for the "celestial" component to be added, and finally be able to get proper Moon phase and placement - that would be great! If it also becomes possible to get realistic dawn / dusk light transitions I will have two of my major annoyancies with X-Plane 10 visual effects solved. And... 2014 is about to arrive in just a few days, so, let's get into that New Year Spirit ! December 27, 201312 yr Well, getting back on topic, I noticed this funny occurance that sims have now changed, in regards to the low-visibility "feature" while in clouds.. Whilst doing some test flights in FSX with ASN, the new and rather hyped up feature that causes clouds to really drop the visibility... Is essentially exactly same thing as x-plane's default low vis feature when you fly into overcast. Except your FPS skyrockets, not so much in FSX. Was doing some flying in Oregon, real weather with rather low overcast ceiling, like 500ft. Tried to stay below the clouds in order to keep my vision ahead of me, but even while overcast ceiling was noticeably high above my aircraft, the vision "fogged up" very quickly; Just like in xplane which we all hate.. Funny how we pay to get rid of that feature, while in the other sim this is a new revolution in weather depiction. ^_^
December 28, 201312 yr Commercial Member Cameron, and I for one...in reading her/his post...do not get what the heck they are critiquing?!?!? You and John, have NEVER intimated, that your product will 'generate' weather. Never! It was clearly a cloud depiction enhancement over the default offering. It DOES JUST THAT....and so, her/his post is totally vacuous. Anyway...having a blast with the CLOUD depiction offering I bought off of your site...and doing what I EXPECTED it to do...and nothing more. What it does...it does well...and really like 1.2 Keep the .x's coming... Thanks for the kind words, Ses. I'm happy to see you're enjoying it! Founder of X-Aviation
December 28, 201312 yr pretty silly stuff... Please know Cameron that 90% of those who read posts like the REX one just roll their eyes. Most of us just read and rarely post, but we're not stupid and know a troll when we see one. Don't take the bait and try to reason with an unreasonable person. I haven't purchased your product yet, but plan to soon. It really looks like a nice addition to XP. Michael

Most of us just read and rarely post, but we're not stupid and know a troll when we see one. Don't take the bait and try to reason with an unreasonable person. It's a matter of principle. I've dealt with trolls plenty, and considering this individual is now banned for valid reasons I'd say I got my bait back. On a more serious note... I haven't purchased your product yet, but plan to soon. It really looks like a nice addition to XP. Thanks Michael, for the consideration to purchase! It's been really exciting to see the great reactions from people on this product and motivates us to continue adding more and more. Founder of X-Aviation
December 30, 201312 yr I am looking forward for the "celestial" component to be added, and finally be able to get proper Moon phase and placement - that would be great! I have often wondered, how many people are even aware of what phase the moon is in at any given time? I know Jcomm is really into that, I for one was amazed when I first realized that at least some of the constellations, were represented, I have seen Scorpio for one and i believe I have seen Sagittarius as well. I was an avid amateur astronomer :-) But the Moon phases are important, even for night VFR! January 12, 201412 yr That would be a great thing, although cloud shadows are actually already implemented, but toned down (too much in my opinion) * - obviously only with the default clouds (and not Skymaxx). You can see this, when still having the default clouds (or deactivating Skymaxx?) and pressing K or L for changing the time of day. Cloud shadows are wandering around. But as it seems, the shadows won't be darkened again in stock XP, I'd appreciate if Skymaxx can add this feature. I would also be very happy if we could see any cloud shading on ground
January 12, 201412 yr I would also be very happy if we could see any cloud shading on ground  +1. That really added some depth and realism in XP9!
January 12, 201412 yr So far the only programs I know that use cloud shadows are ROF and War Thunder. That both of those programs also have very high frame rates argues that there is a low cost solution. We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... January 13, 201412 yr I would be very interested if SMP implemented cloud shadowing. That was another reason why I sold my XP10; as uwespeed shows, they (LR) took out one of the things that attracted me away from FSX in the first place! Will I do a Jcomm-style about turn? Let's wait and see! :-)
January 13, 201412 yr Jcomm-style about turn? Those are my procedural turns :-) But I can get into traps sometimes...
