Eaglesoftdg just announced the Citation XLS+ is their newest project

Thanks. Truthfully, I wouldn't buy that. I hope the VC on the new airplane is better.

That's what we thought. It'll be a good while before it becomes CX3.0. Meanwhile you have plenty of options from other devs. B)

I can be patient.  I've heard nothing but good things about what you guys are doing with systems...amazing stuff.  Really wishing you guys the best on this new effort!

Many thanks Gregg. We'll do our best. B)

Well Gregg, here are my shots of the Citation X 2.0 VC.  Ron says better to come with the XLS.

Pics or it didn't happen.  :)  Seriously though...the screenshots on the Eaglesoft site are difficult to see and look bad from what I can see.  Can you send some screenies so we can see what the VC looks like?  I've always heard their avionics are top notch.

Night with Flood Lights turned up.  ES did a nice job on a workable Tail Flood with a switch too no less.  No Auto Fun if you know what I mean.

Have you figured out how to start it yet?

I had a helluva time when I just got it

Ya that was a challenge.  Finally found the little spot NEXT to the throttles and away I went.  That said, the APU modeling on the X is really very nice so we can imagine more of that with the XLS.

Respectfully,

Jet

Ron says better to come with the XLS.

Thanks Jet. Actually the XLS+ is a new product generated in 3DSMax by a skilled 3DSMax model and texture artist.

The PL21 systems will exceed the depth and accuracy of the CX2.0.

The other point I was making is that current CX2.0 model and texture work will be completely rebuilt to todays standards and released as CX3.0

Those are only two of many that are on our LDSL "Long Dream Ship List" B)

By looking your screenshots, it's not that bad, but some developers really lift the bar. I would like to see better cockpit textures and 3D CDU buttons for XLS+.

At that screenshots, with such a nicely modeled 3d switches and knobs, 2d push buttons are really out of place

Reread. "current CX2.0 model and texture work will be completely rebuilt to todays standards and released as CX3.0"

You needn't worry about XLS+ modeling. It will exceed expectations.

Fellows, our posts are here to clarify and inform but we are not here for feature requests.. B)

I think the new ES CJ1+ will be the big winner in the VC textures update provided it is also brought up to today's standards.

I also think the existing v2.0 X is still as good or better than much of competition.

We can only all guess what could possibly be on that secret LDS list of future toys. Is there a short list version of the long list?

Something I find odd... when the Eaglesoft Citation X v2.0 was released, there was absolutely no other business jet available for FS9 or FSX that has the system depth and accuracy as the Eaglesoft release. Even to this day, there is still no other business jet available for FS9 or FSX that has the same system depth and accuracy.

Yet... people really don't seem to care that much about accuracy. I see Ray asking MilViz to do a Citation with a PL21 (not sure which airframe) but I'm assuming he's expecting MilViz to 'plug-n-play' their 350i PL21 gauges into a Cessna panel and *poof!*. That's not accurate, not even remotely... but he's willing to buy that?

At the same time... people don't like the VC model... so they won't purchase an addon. It really boggles my mind.

Now... please read this: It's fine that those are your choices... and I accept them, but I am simply pointing out that they are confusing to me.

I suppose the magic secret is to find the balance or the fine line between systems depth & accuracy and a cockpit that is both pleasing to the eye and functional in FSX. If one stood back and seriously evaluated the completed product of the X before the hot fix they probably would find it somewhat short of outstanding, as many did.

Even though many of the 2d mini panels were quite innovative and functional those features are not to be found in the real world edition so where does that leave you with 'accuracy'?

Actually, I do know more about the 'poof' concept than you give me credit for. And I also know a little more about the specific PL 21, it's history and how it is being adapted to Cessna panels. Some things are better unsaid.

Simulated reality is just a tough nut to crack. No matter how accurate one thinks it is, it is still a simulation.

Is there a short list version of the long list?

We've talked about four. They are XLS+, CJ1+ CX3.0, Hawker 400XPR. Three of the four use the Collins PL21 system.

The Honeywell Primus 2000 is already established for CX3.0.

That's the short list we've discussed publically and that's all for now.

Oops, almost forgot to add the CII steam system when LES completes that work.. :Nerd:

Yep, that is indeed a great short list. I eagerly await several of them.

Not news Ray, we've known for years what is required in the market place. Now that we are able to provide, we will.

That is the reason for CX3.0 which by the way will be increased in price to reflect that reality. B)

Ray... read my post again. I said nothing about 'outstanding'... I said accuracy. One does not mean the other nor vice versa. This isn't about who makes the better widget. It's my wondering why someone's willing to take crap systems modeling and so-so avionics as longas the visual model is "outstanding". I fail to grasp that acceptance and seek to understand it better.

If you want to answer it by judging my work with vague references that only you understand, you're honestly missing the point.

I just installed the CX v2. The flight and systems modeling are excellent. Ed, you did a tremendous job on this. I have no issues with the VC either, but then I don't have any PMDG aircraft to compare it to.  I had a frustrating time getting it installed and now I am searching the internet for the proper procedures to fly it. The only negatives I can give this plane is that it needs an installation document and a flight procedures document. The KLAS-KLAX sample flight document has some errors and omissions in it. Other than that it is superb. I am a steam guage guy tip-toeing over to the dark side of FMS for the first time with this plane so that may be while I am struggling. I am enjoying learning the systems and fascinated by what this add-on can do.
