I'm confused too. Anything with WAAS is generally an outside of stock GPS programming so I assumed it would have update able navdata.

It would be a HUGE cripple to not have updatable navdata IMHO.

Hang on guys, don't get overly excited before they even build it.  My bet is the ES XLS+ will be an outstanding, up-to-date add on with all the expected bells and whistles.  This will include WAAS support, thereby LPV approaches galore into all those extra 3,000 airports or so due to the XLS+ short field capability and using the latest necessary nav data to enable these features it will be update-able.

I wonder what nav data will be used with the new ES CJ1+ that was mentioned above.  Probably the same just to keep the house in order and have the latest and most comprehensive database and nav data.

Just guessing, of course.

Having both a totally up-to-date ES XLS+ and an equally new up-to-date ES ES CJ1+ should keep up excited for some time to come. I am just about as happy to hear about the CJ1+ as I am the move from the XLS to the XLS+.  They ones flying in the real world both have the integrated Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics package so we may be able to fly both with one type rating. :P

Wait, so the navdata will not be upgrade-able?

No one said that. Someone (I think it was you) stated that it should use Navigraph. I am simply pointing out that the Navigraph database doesn't provide enough information for the WAAS-enabled Pro Line 21 avionics system.

or have LPV/WAAS in it, I dont understand?

Navigraph doesn't have LPV/WAAS (same thing, really just that LPV is provided by WAAS in the U.S. and has different names in other parts of the world. But they're all LPV approaches ). So if Eaglesoft chose to use Navigraph, you wouldn't have avionics that worked 100% like the real deal.

hi ,when you state running in FSX and P3d does that mean both P3d 1.4 and P3d v2 ?,i must say the combination of  Eaglesoft and P3dv2 should be terrific

many thanks

Ray, they'll be included. RealNAVData is a DB which supports such implementation.

First, this is an ambitious undertaking at a very high level and will cost accordingly.

Folks ask for such and will now need to step to the plate for what they ask for. B)

Joe, there are plans for a total rebuild of CJ1+ to the same high level.

We will be leveraging the PL21 system in a number of projects going forward.

CJ4 is not on the drawing board at this time. XLS+ and CJ1+ should suffice for now. B)

Will we be able to buy more than quarterly updates for RealNavData without having to pay $1000?

Not at this time, no.

That being said will the XLS+ use the same database that your Mindstar gauges use?  IE will the database be update-able through the same tech Mindstar uses?

As long as I have current navdata I'm happy... and I think a lot of other vatsim/ivao/pilot edge people will be too.  I don't mind having to use another source though I'd prefer to have Navigraph.  But since Navigraph doesn't do LPV I would be colored pink to have any DB, as long as it's update-able.

Yes, I believe Ron's plans are to utilize the RealNav database so his aircraft can support LPV approaches.

Not at this time, no.

I can live with that, obviously, but it would be nice to at least have a 56 day revision option. :)

Very good, whew I got a little worried.

But I know it's in good hands.

RealNAVData.com is a site folks should want to become familiar with.

Gentlemen. you can't have full featured PL21 w/LPV/WAAS while relying on Navigraph simply because they do not provide the means for such.

The choice is RealNAVData since they do provide the means. As already mentioned these projects are ambitious in nature in that they are forward looking.

Those who wish to participate should do so with eyes wide open regarding costs and features. You asked, we answered, now every one who wishes to can participate. B)

FSX is our base platform. We will continue to build and release for FSX "native" format.
Unsure if P3D v1.4 is even available from Lockheed Martin as we are only testing in P3D v2.
At this point it appears that P3D v2 "native" format which is not backwards compatible to FSX is the likely route.
We've not considered so called "dualsim" versions at this time. B)

Bizjet, updatable navdata, looks and flies nice, I'm set!

In practical terms, what difference will a simmer see inside FSX with the more complete data base? I frequently do LPV approaches in the F1 King Air or Mustang and all of the approach plate information seems available with Navigraph.

Thanks

Louis
