FS 9.95 never looked so good.

The model is the Aerosim DC-8 (note the cargo model looks better than the pax model)

I've been dancing around the Cargo DC-8 by AeroSim for the last couple of weeks - trying to argue myself into buying it. Will you release your panel? Looks like that might decide the issue for me.

Cheers,

Sascha

  • Well I am assuming the thread title is a typo! Nobody got beyond here as far as I know! Good idea for a thread, I happened to pop some screens while looking through aircraft for the Best Freeware A

  • What happened to this thread? I am more into moving pics with sound (not music) than stills now but hey let's see some pics.

  • Here's some old screenshots from around last year. Unfortunately, I go through FS phases due to real life commitments and I'm happy to report that I've been actively flying FS9 for the past few weeks

I have no plans to release any panels Sasha. Perhaps HJG may be a better bet?

When are you going to release all your panels in a huge package download so the rest of us can be just like you? :D

No kidding.

Simply copied the whole FS9 folder from my old PC and guess what: It all works. Such would not be possible with FSX. In FSX you would need to reinstall all addons but in FS9 all simply work! Probably it even works from Ubuntu in Wine 1.6. I'll try that later today.

All still a loving work in progress guys. :Cuppa:

Ed's not offering his panels so I'm looking the other way on this one...  :Sigh:   :Hmmmph:

Why keep showing us these pictures MAN!!!   :t0152:

HJG panels are fine, but I love the photoreal look of your panels. The Aerosim DC-8 model is fine but the VC is a bit dated. Usually I fly from the VC with pop-up panels but I would have made an exception for your panel ^_^

I've been doing that for the last couple of years, sure saves a lot of hassle. Of course my FS9 has been running stable on the same machine for more than 5 years now

Still testing….fuel flow scalar is incorrect….mess with that and parasite drag scalar is incorrect…mess with that and…….so it goes on.

I met a MD-11 enroute and overtook it at mach 0.79…I guess that's because it's no 2 engine was shut down.

All this chatter... I'm waiting for the announcement that this is not appropriate to the Screenshots Forum...

While Ed is busy with his post-production work: here's my favourite "4 jet engines in a pod" tubeliner:

I'll see your Mach=0.79 and raise you some: 0.88 at 21,000 ft when you're in a hurry!

I can never be like Ed nor do I want to be... ultrawide monitor means 2d panels are umm... indicative only.

Doesn't stop the fun though, and more appreciation for Ed's fine handiwork in the shots.

Afterthought: this is what FS9 does for me, I go looking for a Convair 990 and there it is, installed and flying in about 10 minutes including download.

Thanks, HJG.

n2je.jpgAin't those nacelles beautiful? You can't help but feel there's a B-58 inside, waiting to get out...

I think you got your quote boxes mixed up there?  I didn't originally say what you quoted me with.

The widescreen monitor was the nail in the coffin for the 2D panel IMHO.

BTW WingZ, I have added a lot of AI at ZSPD but it still looks empty…..is the afcad ok? (gate size etc)

My favourite 4 engine jet is obviously the B747-/200/300 and the B707 would certainly be a contender if I could just find a cockpit to photograph. :Praying:

Afcad is OK - dId you go to the WOAI airports page?

Yes sorry I used "Selective quote" in the box you quoted and the forum software assigned it to you.

What 747-200/300 do you use?

I use the fantastic POSKy model of course. One of the best things about this freeware model is one can tweak the animations to suit one's taste.

Which of course is the worst thing about pay ware …they want to lock everything down.

The Boeing 747 classic has more cockpit configurations than any aircraft I know….I knew I wanted to make my own panel because no pay ware developer would do it (CLS chose the worst and least common config for example)

Here are just a couple of my 747 cockpit configs.

B747-200

B747-300

How does all that compare to the RFP 747-200 which works I believe in fs9? I had it in 2002 which I enjoyed and actually prefer over the PMDG 747 in 2004.

Favourably…. RFP 747 and PT Tu-154M were my favourite simulations. I learnt a lot from RFP but like many they did not want to take their product further….so I made my own.

I hope to do the same with the TU-154M but do not have my photos yet.

Also do you use the civa ins for navigation?

I trained on the CIVA INS …superb simulation. But again I wanted more …so I made my own. (which the F.O updates the waypoints for me. :P I got tired of punching in a new 8 waypoints every 8.)

Here is a video of my 742 using and Delco/Trimble INS combo. B)
