I've bought the iFly 737NG for P3D about three weeks ago. The end of the story was a refund, because I had very bad frames with this aircraft.

Apologize for going a little off topic but just wanted to pass on a friendly reminder that we have changed our signature policy again and we are kindly asking everyone to please put their system specs and flight sim information in their respective "My Profile". More details can be found at the following link - http://forum.avsim.net/topic/436632-new-signature-rules or under the Forums tab above. Thanks for your cooperation.

Firehawk,

I just grabbed a copy for myself after SteveW finally helped me get my P3D setup correctly.   Started pegging at 60 FPS in default aircraft and stuff ported over from FSX but when I load in with the iFly the FPS plummets to 20 FPS and stays right around there.   It's 'smooth' but noticeable frame clicking happens at anything under 25 as the human eye can start to register the slow frames.    Here is the weird thing... when I move all the sliders to the left and shut everything off (admittedly I left shadows on moderate) I get NO FPS gain.  It stays at 20 FPS.   ???   I am waiting for Flight1 to answer my registration ticket problem so I can get on the forums there and poke around for an answer.  Do you have any tips or tricks for getting the iFly up to speed?   I read this entire thread and even tried to mimic your CFG settings but it just stays pegged at 20 FPS.. a 40 FPS loss from default aircraft.  I didn't even take that bad of a hit with the PMDG on FSX.   Any insight would be appreciated.

If you mimic my config settings, you will see mine are set to unlimited. Make sure you stay away from any "tweaks" other than LOD_Radius and Texture Max Load (until your problem is fixed).

Best regards,

I have zero tweaks in my CFG other than opening up my bandwidth for my card.  It is suggested that the addon did not install correctly and I should uninstall it, turn off all anti-virus, run as adminstrator and make sure I have full ownership of the P3D folder before I try again.   Something is not working right because even if I push all the option sliders to the far left and turn off features like shadows the frame rate STAYS at 20 FPS.  @_@   This is not right.   Steve got me from 25FPS to 60FPS in default aircraft.  I do not believe that this aircraft steals 40 FPS to run.  That is highly inefficient.   It has to be installed wrong.

Hi all!

Just wanted to bring up that thread again, as I also have some FPS issues with the iFly.

With the F35 for example I can easily fly around with 70+/-15 FPS and it's very smooth (I use the FPS-limiter  @24 because I get some stutters otherwise)

With the iFly I also see around 60 FPS max., but going down to 18/20 sometimes. So the variance is really high and that does not happen with the other aircraft. I believe this gives me some stutters from time to time @ limited FPS.

I'm not using any tweaks and my HW shoudn't be too bad (ok CPU maybe) - i7-2600 @3.8GHz / 780Ti / 8GB. Maybe anyone has a clue.

I really need a good 737 in P3D and PMDG is not available yet. But I expect also a noteable FPS-impact there.

Marc Weber

So the variance is really high

To be expected with very systems intensive aircraft.  It's not generally acknowledged that the iFly is every bit as complicated as PMDG's version, maybe more so with WX radar, RNAV, IAN etc.

Maybe you could try the Milviz since that 737 type doesn't have the systems complexity of the NG?

As a further alternative the Feelthere E-Jets V2 (EMB175 and EMB195) work well in P3D not to mention the Quality Wings Avro/BAe duo.

The Ifly 737 NGX is a great aircraft.

Very wel modeled systems and a very real flight model.

I use the Cockpit Builders Edition and also that one is great.

It's odd that some seem to struggle with performance issues with the Ifly B737, it's a complex aircraft for sure but in my experience it gets no worse fps than other payware aircraft I have that are known to be a little lighter in system depth.  The only payware aircraft that I had that took a very noticeable hits in fps was the LHS Maddog MD80.  Looking forward to PMDG coming to P3D the last plane of theirs I bought was the JS41 (I had the Ifly in FSX and transitioned to P3D by the release of the B777) I know they've come a long way since then.

@FeRo  have you looked at the CoolSky DC-9?  It's not a modern airliner in terms of it's avionics suite but it's a fantastic aircraft that installs into P3d without issue, it also has the F1 money back guarantee and has a lower price point too,

RE Thomason Jr.

I have the ifly 737 and love it,but it does run at around 30fps max dropping to 20/22 in the VC view,(30 fps is locked in my sim so who care,s),my pc is 3 yrs old with a gtx570 so not the most up to date system, but as i only use P3dv2.4 I find these FPS give me a smooth flight,I have read on Avsim that LM have recommend setting fps at 22 fps so what are the benefits of 60fps?,I also often wonder just how much work goes into altering an aircraft add on to make it compatible with P3d v2,very little I expect and don't forget the ifly737 was converted to use with P3d v1.4 approx 2 yrs ago,I wonder if it has been further tuned to work with P3dv2.4?,but like most people  in simming I am eagerly awaiting the reports of all the simmers running the PMDG 737 at 60/80fps in Pd3 v2.4 with all slider,s hard right LOL

Yup! The NGX, made me fall in love, in 1.4 then promptly broke my heart in v2...and now I'm pining for the lady again. But can I justify buying the Ifly AND the new promised to come... PMDG P3d NGX??

So short of buying a new MOBO/CPU...would ya'll take a look at http://forum.avsim.net/topic/455064-what-is-the-best-combination-to-enhance-prepared3d/ and advise me?

Thanks,

Chas
