Carenado Malibu

Close to pulling the trigger, can you confirm it doesn't have that annoying torque roll? I had to shelve my loving Bonanza as I couldn't take it anymore.

There is a torque effect on take off, but I'd say its a realistic one!

As with all newer Carenado planes, the torque effect is dampened via plugin.  It can be reduced even further, simply by opening the "avionics.lua" script, locating line 24, and setting the torque value to whatever value you feel comfortable with.

As to the rain effects, the only plane so far to have rain effects on the windshield in X-Plane is also the only one that has windshield wipers: the C90.

I love the rain effect ! I would love to see more of those rain drops moving on the windshield ! Is there a reason you can't add more moving rain drops ? And could you keep the rain on the wind shield on while flying ?

I just bought it too, but it's too late to be trying it out now.  I'll have to look forward to trying her out tomorrow.

Don't know about coding more moving rain drops but you can keep the rain on the windshield above 130kts (which it disappears at by default) by making the change detailed in this thread:

Carenado.com is the only place you can get at the moment? I prefer to buy from the unlimited download shops.

Picked it up, new favorite toy. I like it better than the C-90. Carenado's X-plane skills are really setting a new standard. The Visual Models are fantastic.

I wish it had the rain effects I'd probably get it then. I actually don't have the BE9L either.

Yeah, sounds a bit daft but it is actually something that strongly influences a buy / don't buy decision for me these days

I just can't wait for 10.30 to update all those crappy stock 430s and this beauty has double the crappy 430s to get mad over. She flies well though.

Yeah an ability to add/amend flight plan info on the fly would be great. XP already has an updatable navdata base so it just needs a better GPS upgrade.

I'm looking at all those Carenado X-Plane releases with virtual cockpit raindrops, realistic cockpit lighting, real-time gauge reflections and more animated parts while wishing those features will find their way to the FSX versions eventually. But it seems like a pipe dream...  :(

Holy cow.... I spent the money on the King air... big mistake.... that thing molests my video card...  stutters galore, my vram is maxed out yikes!

Ugh

Ryan,

I'm having the same problem with the Malibu. I don't have the King Air to compare it with, but I have several other Carenado aircraft in X-Plane and they all give good, steady frame rates (as do all my other X-Plane aircraft). I've raised a query with Carenado, but if the King Air is doing it too, it's maybe a "feature" of their latest work (HD textures?). That would be a real pity, since I enjoy their earlier offerings, but for me, the Malibu is a waste of money as it stands (or stutters).
