I don't care as much about the ATC as I do about AI traffic. I'd like to think at some point some talented developer will come up with a traffic program along the lines of My Traffic X.

Agree.

AI Traffic is something I would prioritize for improvements over ATC, but that's just me.

Truthfully both need work.

In the last year I've finally started enjoying road traffic in the scenery and it's amazing what a feeling of "life" other traffic gives to the scenery.

If anyone ever watches or participates in Pilotedge they fill the skies with bots that add plausible AI for the California Region.

Anyone else notice the autogen seems much better now?

What are you noticing is better?

P3Dv2.2 does though, Thats what Mitch has most recently been flying.

How is the Ai and ATC coming along in 10.3 ?

I am running between these two pretty much, not FSX as much for P3D has jaded me.

After playing around all day, I'm absolutely convinced there's some back end thing wrong.

Literally the longer I use the sim and tinker with settings the worse things get.

After hours of messing around I can return back to an exact situation from this morning and I'm getting 7-10fps worse now than I was before.

Really bizarre.

Yep, it is a sign and least on the surface that memory is not being released when not used.

Good thoughts Bob.

Would that still be the case with me having done plenty of reboots and restarts of the program?

Shouldn't rebooting clear everything up?

Just crazy that 8 hours of use later, even with a fresh start, I'm getting 10fps less than I was this morning with everything identical. (Wx, all settings...literally all of it)

Remember, this is BETA 1.  Laminar always warn of possible bugs in any beta release and they encourage people to submit bug reports should they wish to do so.  (You're certainly not obliged to)  If things are not running smoothly, run the updater again and UNCHECK the beta option.  The updater will restore your installation to the previous stable, non-beta version.  In this case, 10.25

I'm not worried about reverting or anything. I have 10.3b1 as a separate install. Just sharing what's going on is all.

Nvidia: yep all the latest.

I'm sure it'll get ironed out. Can't wait, as the initial performance this morning was AWEsome!!

Yea, I don't know. Seems way to out of line even for a beta. This is too big of an issue it seems to me. I just hope they did not change to many variables, that they are now not sure what is causing it or it is one of those "Never saw that one coming". So  you got the better frames 1 time is that correct? Then, every boot, every run you attempted could never meet the 1st run? Anyway  you can go back to the previous version, then  update again. Are you wanting to do that?

@Bob:

It's not just the "first run", but it starts out great and over the course of tweaking and restarting X-Plane and tweaking some more, etc, etc....it just slowly gets worse.

And then when you come back to a known situation and FPS after all of that....you are down 7-10fps from where you were.

I'm positive *something* is up, as at the end when it's "down 7-10fps" I've said "screw it" and cleared all settings for "max speed" and I'm nowhere near where I should be (barely 30-ish).

I may start another fresh install of 10.3b1 to see if, low and behold, when starting from scratch I'm back to where I was this AM with sensational FPS on very high settings.

Please remember to file a bug report (as detailed as possible, with as much information as possible) to Laminar:

Because just writing in forums - without filing a bug - won't help ...  as Ben Supnik himelf states:

We do not read the various third party X-Plane forums.  If you find a bug and you discuss it on the org or avsim or fs.com for 10 pages and do not report the bug in the form, we do not know about it.  Please do not assume that someone else will report the bug – you’d be amazed how often everyone thought someone else would make the real report.* Also, while I’m ranting, please do not link to forums that require logins or memberships with bug reports; a forum discussion is not a clean bug report!

Re: Bug:  Was planning to once I really really tested a bunch to ensure the same thing keeps happening.

Have a fresh 10.3b1 about to start over with...again, right now today to see if it all happens again.
