E3 is over and.............................

Yup, I guess our sources got that one wrong. But... before everyone uses that to disparage the actual deal as fantasy, I can assure you that a deal has been done. Whether it was announced or not, as it was expected to be, does not alter that fact.

I would like to believe that a deal has taken place, but until I see it, I won't believe so. My above post wasn't directly pointed at you, blame it on those who fed the information TO you, don't blame yourselves! ;)

While the timing of this may have suggested the possibility of an E3 announcement, it's also possible the timing is related to the end of the Microsoft fiscal year; trying to get the revenue booked by the end of the month.

Where do all you guys find the time to fly your sims?

Hmmmmmmmmm.....

What DTG need is a programmer who is conversant with the latest graphics technology and can code the source code of TS-2014, to use one of the best Graphics engines available, like that used by the MS-FS-X flight simulator.

Followed by graphics artists who can create scenery and objects for it !

Past experience is irrelevant unless it includes coding experience of using the latest in graphics technology as used by some of the top GAMES !

Nothing less will do !

HAHA would be funny of Dovetail Games are licensing the FSX engine for a Train Simulator.

I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

Wouldn't it be kinda messed up if they licensed the FSX tech only to redo thier train sim?

Oops! Cross-post!

True Dat....I was just saying because their has been lots of speculating going on, which I find kinda funny is all. FSX came out in 2006 so that is now 8 years of waiting on development of a next one (except for Flight) so I can wait a while for a press release without joining in on the speculating. Every Flight Simulatorist is very good at waiting all things considered

Cheers

Not really funny, as the cancelled MSTS2 was built on the FSX/ESP engine. That's why I think it's a perfect fit for them. The ultimate intention Aces was going for, was to combine FSX and Train Sim, to develop an overall transportation simulator.

Thanks

That's some seriously old tech, though. It they really spent a supposed mint for the license, they might as well have gone ahead and made something of their own!

No older then what LM started with. Remember at it's roots ESP is FSX minus the GUI. What Prepar3D is now is mostly from subsequent LM development.  Right now the FS engine, X-Plane engines and maybe Outerra  are really the only proven global graphic engines out there today. That's why when Aerosoft went looking for a engine to build their proposed Flight sim, they couldn't find one that could do all the things the FSX engine was capable of.

Thanks

P3D Is amazing for a "serious" sim.

Which means its years behind the very latest tech. Why would anyone start a new project with old tech, when the money they probably spent to acquire it could have gotten them something modern that they made themselves, free and clear?

But not a consumer entertainment product; to quote the Prepar3d EULA "and only for purposes other than personal/consumer entertainment", which rules me out completely.

OMG...  this is not just aimed at you,  but to everybody picking apart the EULA

Do you really think the EULA police are going to repel from helicopters and arrest you if you are on a personal computer simulating flying a plane.

I think we would be all better off if the FS community would stop simulating being a lawyer and spend more time simulating flying a plane.

I have P3DV2 and I use it to simulate and learn and sometimes when the **** thing is not stuttering I am entertained.

Ok waiting for the FBI now..
