KLGB version 5 uploaded

Featured Replies

Just to let everyone know that version 5 of Long Beach Airport scenery is uploaded to AVSIM and should be available on Sunday.

This version is a stand alone version with further optimization and now selectable options including a version for P3DV2.

This version also fixes the ground texture flashing which unfortunately crept into version 4.

This is a brand new install so version 4 has to be deleted.

Enjoy!

I am still having performance issues with version 5.  Somebody mentioned memory leak and that makes sense because the performance is excellent 30+fps initially.  It takes a couple of minutes and the performance goes into the low 20s then teens and sometimes single digits.  This was with the default 206 Jetranger.

Hi Shez,

Thanks very much for the new version.  Ground flickering is solved!

I am still having frame rate drops.  I took some time this afternoon and isolated the problem to the file "LGBrunwaylights.bgl"  It looks like you are using SCASM lights, and considering the runway headings at LGB, I think you are encountering the problem described in this thread:

http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/scasm-lights-kill-my-fps.21793/#post-194616

This problem will not appear for people using FSX+SP2, only those using acceleration (which I am).  I've checked the scenery at night, and it appears that the problem sections are the runway overruns.

I am a scenery designer, and would be happy to test/tweak, if you like.

Thanks again for a great scenery!

Aha! Thanks for pointing this out.

I had been very careful in fixing this issue but now I discovered that a couple of sub-runways have the incorrect headings which were causing this. The attached file should fix it.

Thanks for pointing this out. It had me vexed..

If it is fixed in the above I will put up the fix for FSXA and P3DV2 users.

That's fixed it for me!  Thanks for the speedy update!

Z.

Fixes it for me too!

Can someone help me with the C17 install though....  I copied the files C17 scenery and texture subfolders into the main LGB scenery and texture folders.... and then I got this:

c17hmmm.jpg

And this minor thing - it might be by design....  but I think the textures need to be flipped or something... the mapping is weird (fuselage on the North mid ramp)

Great! Finally!

I will upload this fix and the one for the largest C17 in the world...

As for the fire test aircraft I guess will have to live with it. I am afraid it will unravel something else if I reopen the file.
