July 21, 201411 yr Recently, I tried to fly the beloved PMDG 737NGX. Now, after flying the new -300ER and SP1, it has come to my attention that the NGX doesn't measure up. In fact, none of my other aircraft measure up. This thread was created to remember the uninstallation of the PMDG 737NGX. I'm sorry... I had to do it. Please tell me I'm not alone in doing this! Regards, Jeremy Chesney
July 21, 201411 yr it has come to my attention that the NGX doesn't measure up. In what? Graphics, realism, fun...? i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
July 21, 201411 yr Author In what? Graphics, realism, fun...? I guess I'm not really sure what. I feel like there are just so many extra features that I don't get in the NGX. I'm a fan of detail and all of those really tiny, seemingly insignificant additions to the 777-300ER make it so much more fun to me. Also, the 777 is just soooooo pretty  unlike the 737 in my opinion. It is pretty, but just not quite as pretty! It's all opinion anyways, I'm sure there are people who hate the 777 and have shelved it in favor of the NGX!!! Regards, Jeremy Chesney
July 21, 201411 yr Commercial Member Eh, I've left the NGX just where it is. It's great for short hops on VATSIM. Aamir Thacker
July 21, 201411 yr Just be aware that after your careeer as a 777 FO, you may become an NGX captain, and you'll have to re-install :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
July 21, 201411 yr do not have the 777 but the 737NGX is so fun to fly, flies beautifully and the sounds are amazing. I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
July 21, 201411 yr Hold the press! You'd have to be crazy to uninstall the NGX! Lol. Seriously, the NGX remains the all time favorite here. Much more versatile aircraft. The 777 is cool, but long haul is so boring I can only do so much of it. Personally, I'd rather do six two-hour legs in the 737 than 12 hours in utter boredom in the 777. Daniel Nilsson

July 21, 201411 yr Not a chance, my entire FSX set up is populated with add on airports for NGX flights. I'm currently doing my first proper 777-300ER flight in the Kenya Airways livery, and she is a thing of beauty, but the NGX remains my favourite plane to fly. R. July 21, 201411 yr Commercial Member I'm really not sure why people do this. It's not like storage space is at a premium in today's age. Further, with the SP2 that will eventually come out with the NGX, it'll be pretty close to the 777 "standard." In any case, I still use just about every aircraft I have on my computer from time to time. No sense in retiring it simply because I have a new plane. I still fly the JS4100 all the time, and it's from 2009... Kyle Rodgers
July 21, 201411 yr I just flew the LDS767 about a week ago and despite the ancient look based on today's standard, I have to say that it still flies amazingly well, paricularly when hand flying and I really enjoyed the flight. I keep all of my addons and fly them once in a while. As you say Kyle, its not like I am running out of space on my 1TB hard drive that is dedicated to FSX. Mark CYYZ
July 21, 201411 yr Oh, yes, I only have one livery for the JS4100, which is the South African Airlink one, but I also like getting that one out from time to time for some trips into smaller South African airports. And she still provides a lot of enjoyment. The guys over at Aeroworx have done some amazing airports for South Africa, perfect for the JS4100. And the only reason I am no longer using the LevelD 767 is because it doesn't work on Windows 8. R.
