Sound upgrade (How To)

Featured Replies

I gave up on Sky, AreoZone has a great one at sim-market *for* the Seneca V.

I was just about to correct you and say that Arezone only had a Seneca II set, but I checked again before shooting from the hip and... That set JUST released (on 9/3) and wasn't available when I bought the Sky set or I would've gone that route.

Man, by the time I get through buying sound sets, I'm going to have a lot invested in this plane, but I don't know how I can resist.  In for a penny, in for a pound I guess.  Thanks for the heads up!

I have a corrected starup set if you like... Blends the starup with the flight idel nicely. The AreZone set is soooooo much better, and the closest thing to the real plane I've seen (heard) so far.

Anyone with the AreZone HD Seneca V set who wants the blended start up, just PM me with your e-mail.

Also.. the only slight... and I mean very slight, problem with eh AreZone set is that it is a little over peek on decibles. I fixed mine, but I can't give you the whole set without going to jail, but you can fix it yourself prety easy. Dload a free wav editor, like audacity, and "Normalize" all the engine sounds to 90 decibles. That will cool off the "blustery" aspec of the set without playing with levels inside FSX.

Is there a freeware way to upgrade the sounds?

Well, you can look in the library. I have a set for the TC-Baron in there, but it's the wrong motor.. but it would work, or any twin engine sounds for that matter.. so long as they are piston opposing 6 cylinders. You could use the beech 18 set, (and that would be kinda funny), but so wrong on so many levels! LOL. I'm sure you could find something you like, but this payware set is pretty good.

Hi Hawk,

I've sent a PM to  you  few days ago, Just wondering if you received it. ( i'd like to have you corrected startup (blended startup).

Yes I did, and you should have it now.

Thank you Hawk. Startup really more realistic now.

Thanks! It drives me crazy when the starup suddenly "ends" and then flight idle comes in outa nowhere. It's such an easy fix, you wonder if the sound team doing these sets has a guy with a gun pointed to thier heads, and screaming "HURRY UP". LOL

Greetings Hawk;

 I also sent a PM requesting that startup mod. Did you get it?

You are correct about that start...it is perfect and then just ends. The rest of the arezone sounds are quite good.

When it is flying the sound, in the exterior, of the engines it is very strong. There will be some way of lowering the sound a bit?
