September 4, 201411 yr Author Following this guide I've been able to get both great IQ and FPS using DX10 as well as a much lower VAS hit. Let's hope Aerosoft Heathrow is easier on the frame rate. Yeah, this is what I'm most interested in too so looking forward to more comparisons in this aspect.
September 4, 201411 yr Thanks for the link to the guide WebMaximus, will try it over the weekend. So much silence from those who bought it must mean it works better... otherwise they would be here ranting already ;-) Enrique Vaamonde
September 4, 201411 yr So much silence from those who bought it must mean it works better... otherwise they would be here ranting already ;-) I am still downloading it. I recommend downloading with FlashGet as I have had two failed downloads using the default download manager. I have about 30 minutes left until I find out if this download worked or not. Fingers crossed it does!
September 4, 201411 yr Author Thanks for the link to the guide WebMaximus, will try it over the weekend. No problem, hope you'll be able to tune things to the better using the guide. Here's a short clip approaching Aerosoft EFHK in DX10 and using all the recommended settings found in the guide and to me this looks really good and performance is equally good. So much silence from those who bought it must mean it works better... otherwise they would be here ranting already ;-) Guess you're right about this, people do tend to make more noise when they're not happy about something compared to the other way around.
September 4, 201411 yr That was a nice and smooth video. What are your system specs? thanks -E Enrique Vaamonde
September 4, 201411 yr Shamrock727, I do in fact have DX10 although disabled. I even bought Steve's Fixer before he took it down. I just didn't get the same crisp quality as DX9 and when I did the performance just went to the bottom. It is not the first time I've heard about reduced OOM errors using DX10, so I may try that again over the weekend. My most recent OOM was in the PMDG 777 after a 11 hour flight from Charles de Gaulle to Houston. I used AI at 10%, Ray Smith's latest AFCAD for LFPG and Fsdreamteam KIAH. I had the OOM on final. Cheers -E I gladly give up a little bit of AA for the better stability of DX10. I've never had an OOM ATP MEL,CFI,CFII,MEI. Type Ratings B-737, ERJ-190,ERJ-170

September 4, 201411 yr ive been plagued by ooms at egll using uk2000 v3. i found its the worst airport for it (after cyvr and klax) from dreamteam. ive found now if I do the following i dont get ooms at egll using uk2000 v3. click on non hd vc textures in fsx. rex clouds at 1080 (or whatever it is, not 4096) texture max load at 2058 (or whatever it is) ut2 off I bought the new aerosoft and downloaded it with Jdownloader. ill install it later. I have to admit, I cant wait to get UK2000 of my system, as much as i have high reguard for gary, its a oom nightmare. Id bet very interested to see how the VAS and ooms go with the new scenery in the pmdg 777
September 4, 201411 yr VAS Usage in the 777 VC lined up on 09L is 2.4GB - AI disabled, autogen disabled, MegaScenery England, Clouds 512x512, Textures @ 4096x4096 and finally ASN running. Lawrence Ashworth
September 4, 201411 yr Frame rate is poor on startup, but when it gets loaded it increases. Its definitely better performance than UK2000 EGLL, I can't say its the best performing scenery, but its pretty good for what it is, good enough I can live with it and I can see myself flying out of their regularly. My system specs: i7 4770K @ 4.5GHz Corsair Platinum 16GB 2400MHz GTX 780Ti 3GB Two Samsung 840 EVO SSD's one 250GB (with W7 64 bit FSX Drive) and the other 750GB (with W8.1 for other games and P3D) With UT2 FPS is 26.5 Without UT2 FPS is 28.4
September 4, 201411 yr I don't mean to hijack the post but @Michael, would you mind sharing w/ me & others how you've set up Scenery Config Editor? I am a newcomer to this tool and although I've read the docs after install I'm still unsure how to configure it. (not the mechanics of configuring it but rather the best way to organize it) Jetline Systems Gravity GTX | i9 9900K 5.0GHz | Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Ultra MB | RTX 2080 Ti OC Edition | 64GB Corsair DDR4 3200 SDRAM | Samsung 970 Pro M.2 NVMe PCIe 1TB SSD | 2x ASUS 32" 4K Monitors | Windows 10 | P3dv4.5 64Bit

I'll probably get this as soon as AES compatibility is in place.

September 4, 201411 yr Author That will be a while! Still waiting on support for Lisbon.... Yep, I'm in the same boat having a couple of sceneries on my list that I won't buy until AES compatibility is in place and now this scenery is on that list too. Last thing I heard was that Oliver been on vacation so I hope he's back soon to start working on next version.
September 4, 201411 yr Nice video Webmaximus, Like others I tried the fixer but got poor results just not as smooth as DX9 which is a shame. Just tried p3d and to be honest it is a stuttering mess so for me as a tube flyer it is back to FSX until such time as P3D is fixed.....do miss those shadows though in 10..
