November 12, 201411 yr Mario, regarding the Moon, I took care to run my tests at various dates, and had done so before the fix, so, I can say that indeed it now works, and it didn't before. As for the improvements with new nvidia drivers, it's true that careful measurements should be required, but I am very focused on using X-Plane 10 in a mode that rather simplifies my tests, because I use it through XView, driven by Aerowinx PSX, working only as a visual platform, with a modified B747-400, no other aircraft, and SkyMaxx Pro v2.1 rendering the weather, which again is injected by PSX. Using this basis for my tests, and running the same situations in PSX, I found under some situations a gain of 10 fps whenI installed SkYMaxx, and then around 3-5 fps with the new Nvidia drivers. Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
November 12, 201411 yr Author New nvidia drivers eliminated stuttering for me when the FPS drops to 22-23 in heavy cities....and now super smooth at 30FPs locked where it stays most of the time. I always test using same aircraft, weather and same city.
November 12, 201411 yr Even so, there are crazy things XP10 do like giving you an additional boost in fps (in my case) when you reload again at startup the real world weather and when in hdr where I'm using 4x + fx, then lower it to say 2x + fx and again setting it to 4x + fx and the boost appears, who nows why. November 12, 201411 yr I am using Nvidia Inspector for X-Plane for 8SQ AA ( 4 MS + 2XSS ) and AN x 16 And Vsync Adaptive and 1/2 refresh rate with very good results With the new 10.31rc3 and Nvidia driver, instead of Nvidia Inspector do you recommend to use HDR On and 4x MS + 2 x SS in X plane menu ?

Yes! This also happens to me, if I go to rendering settings 'just' after loading the sim and the weather has loaded, and change NOTHING in there, and exit out, I get a 40% frame boost! I know this wasn't just me experiencing this!
November 12, 201411 yr Other people at the german Aoersoft-Forum are still reporting: the 337.88 Driver runs faster and smoother than the 344.65. Did someone compare these two drivers? Regards, Philip
November 12, 201411 yr Other people at the german Aoersoft-Forum are still reporting: the 337.88 Driver runs faster and smoother than the 344.65. Did someone compare these two drivers? Regards, Philip It seems this is kind of true because i just updated my driver to 344.65 and i feel its not as smooth as 337.88, it gives me kind of micro stutters. I did not do a proper performance comparison, its just a general feel, but i think im reverting back to 337.88. My system specs: I7-4770K cpu@ 3.5GHZ 8GB Ram Nvidia Ge Force 650 Ti X-Plane11 GTX1070 8GB Vram - i7 4770K cpu @3.5GHz Quad core - 16GB RAM
November 13, 201411 yr We shouldn't be too hard on people that might have the placebo effect. After all, it's not bound by Moore's law and is a lot cheaper than new hardware. I have not got the latest RC and probably not the latest nvidia drivers so I will do a quick scenario and see.
November 13, 201411 yr After I updated both my drivers and X-Plane I was getting horrible frame rates, like 20 most of the time and even some 15s. After going and setting all my rendering options to lowest settings and building them back up to where they were, my frame rates are back where they should be. 45 in most cities, 30 in NYC and 60 in less dense areas (locked to refresh rate). I have no idea why that worked. Joseph Catino
November 13, 201411 yr X-Plane is soooo full of mystic... :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
November 14, 201411 yr it's final now , there is also a new blog post related to XP crashes when using scenery packs
