If i was there anyway i would not miss a chance to meet the devs from the FS team, but i doubt there will be said anything about FS on XBOX or a new PC version.OHN

My 2 cents - MS CANNOT convince simmers to migrate to a different platform. If they do release it for Xbox platform only, X-Plane (or maybe Fly! resurrected) and others will kick in and hijack the simming community. Soon with a larger user/developer base who knows, these products may beat MSFS in no time at all. It may even give open source flight simming a huge boost. No way MS will let this happen.Something similar happened with EA Sport F1 series. Sony hijacked F1 for their PS2 platform. The hadcore F1 fans are still sticking with the 2002 version and rely on independent developers for freeware track, car and dynamics updates. There's no competition here because the F1 logo is licensed to Sony exclusively wrt gaming. MS won't have this advantage. They can't prevent competition. Keith

F1 99-02 was the last EA Sports title. I am however glad Sony went that way because now EA had to taste their own medicine ;). EA with their big wallets have been acquiring tons of exclusive licenses lately to kill of competition. That said EA:s last f1 titles for PC was great simulations not as dumbed down for "playability" as EA generally does with their games. Thus they got a pretty solid fanbase.Best example is the GTR 2002 mod where those developers simbin is now out the probably most realistic racing simulation together with perhaps Richard Burns Rally with their GTR :)Well however they could buy developers like say Boeing and Airbus to make them exclusive for one game. That was what happened to I don

No keyboards or other usb controllers for games? Stupid idea!

Everything I've seen suggests that Microsoft want to move to a integrated development environment that would produce code for XBox, Media PC and desktop PC. So the same basic game would play on all 3 platforms. But, ISTM that it might require DX10 for this to happen. My assumtion was that DX10 wouldn't appear on the PC until Longhorn OS. But that seems quite a ways off yet. So maybe it could be that a FlightSim X is in works for XBox, and then later an FS10 version for Longhorn OS. Unless DX10 will also run on XP, or DX10 is not a requirement for the next gen FS? It's always been my view that the role of MS games is to demonstrate the advantage (from MS standpoint) of using MS OS technology (such as DirectX) to encourage others to develop for that API vice OpenGL, etc. Common code for XBox and PC would help keep developers off of Sony.scott s..

Chances are it WILL be released on XBOX.Chances are it WILL be released on PC.The XBOX 360 is an incredibly powerful machine, and I can assure you it will be able to run the next version of FS FAR better than any PC available today. It is capable of displaying HD, and allows for the same peripherals that the PC allows.Everyone is panicking WAY too much. Get over it, as it will be available on PC possibly on the same day that it's available on XBOX.Don't expect it to look as good on PC, though.James

Hello Allwow, isn't that what PT did a few years ago and everyone got so ###### about it? Maybe not, its been so long ago now that even I don't remember all the details.Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. Dopke (Clay)Major, USAF (retired)"Drac"

As I stated in another thread, until the good folks at Microsoft announce something, then all we have is speculation. So while these discussions are interesting, let's try not to get too bothered by it.

No, it's the reverse.Ubisoft failed to ask permission from some aircraft manufacturers to use their intellectual property (trademarks mainly, like company names and aircraft names) in their product and those manufacturers sued (or threatened to).Ubisoft had to then remove those aircraft from the product.

I'm sure they do know what we are discussing. I imagine it must be very hard to be a member of the fs development team reading all this and saying nothing. If it was me, I'd be bursting to say something.

No mention about XBox-based FS version on the last E3 press conference webcast (may/16).http://www.xbox.com/media/games/e32005/vid...cast-001-Hi.asxMaybe "FS-X" is just another hoax or weekly (if not daily) theory about the "Next Version".Not originated from me, that one is circulating in some forums before I posted here. I'm just looking for more info (morbid curiosity maybe).Let's wait for the AVSIM conference to clear things out (or not!).Anyway, if a dumbed d..., I mean, "simplified" FS version for console players suddenly come out this or next year I won't be surprised.Uncle Bill goes where the money is.

>Let's wait for the AVSIM conference to clear things out (or>not!).As per other posts in this thread, we may not have to wait until the Avsim conference - maybe.Victor
