NGX Reboot is under development!

Will we have the option to utilize only the external power during preflights and thruflights? Thereby not selecting APU/EX but only External.

As i mentioned previously this is the way I'm used to things beeing done here in Norway at least. Due to short turnarounds (30min) and Restrictions in APU usage at the ramp. A little annoying having to turn the APU off everytime the FO turns it on during his flows.

Hi Bryan,

Just one small thing, which might need some fresh code:

In the old NGX fs2crew, there was the option to call the cabin crew, she comes to the cockpit and the captain orders "one coffee please" .... a few minutes later, she comes back and says something like here is your coffee..... but then something is wrong in the code, because she never actually delivers that coffee to my desk....??? ;-))

regards

Richard, I think the best way to solve this is to patch your Significant Other through the FS2Crew API. I expect there to be some sync issues at first and eventually you may have to start ducking right-hooks more often that usual but it could be something that would be worth experimenting with.

Thanks for your understanding,

I've already tried with the freeware Program Girlfriend14 - after having trouble getting that to work with the FS2Crew NGX version I tried upgrading GF14 to Wife1.0 and FS2Crew to the 777 version.... with no luck, Just couldn't find the API hook - but the problem now is that Wife1.0 acts like some sort of Malware or virus... and Wife1.0 does not like to be uninstalled so I thought I'll try and Install a new payware version of GF15 but even patching that to GF15.3.0 didn't make any difference... and the last thing that happend was that Wife1.0 though is scanning API found that GF15.3.0 is running on the same Hardware....zzz NOT GOOD! Huge Problem, anyhow - since then, I don't know how and why - after uninstalling GF15.3.0, Wife1.0 seems to have somehow found the API hook in FS2Crew through its scanning API -  and now it mirically works without a flaw.....

kind regards

Just my 2 cent's

Don't worry, in NGX Reboot you have full options to cover this.

However, I recall in the legacy NGX version if you set your power source to EXT the FO will not turn on the APU during his after landing flow.

Hi there byork hope all is well? Just wondering have you done any flights yet with the version you are working on? If so how is it so far?

Once you are airborne, go back to your cfg window and reset the power source to external. When you land, the apu won't be started. Once you get to the gate, you'll have to shut down engine 2. Once the ground crew hooks up the GPU, you switch the power and shut down engine 1. It's all in the manual!!

Will the reboot have the FO doing the WXR test during preflight

I'd guess yes, just like the 777 version does.

The current NGX version does it now...so I don't see why it would change.

I'm not sure if it does on the NGX ? Was looking through the manual

Actually, I think you're right.  I'm confusing the GPWS test with the WX test!

Anyway, I'm sure it will be there...the 777 version has it.

Hopefully bryon can answer this?

Yes, it'll be there.

Thing to note about NGX Reboot is that is has something we've never done before.

This time you can chose between airline SOPs.

At the one airline we modeled, the FO sets up almost everything during the pre-flight.

At the other airline, the Captain/Pilot flying does pretty well all the work, and he would run all the tests.

At the one airline we modeled, the FO sets up almost everything during the pre-flight.

Thats not good! What do you mean every single thing? So during preflight i'll just sit there and only setup my FMS?

I would like to have the PF flows like in my FCOM - light test, Setup my EFIS, oxygen test and loads more

You missunderstood.

There are two different airline SOPs we are including.  And you can even custom configure a lot of what the FO does or does not do.

SOP #1:  FO/PM does most of the work.  That's how they do it at their airline.

SOP #2: Capt/PF does most of the work.  That's how they do it at their airline.

Trust me, you'll like this.

I still would like to handle things how they are?

Ok Bryan ;) but either way i'll still be getting it !!
