What if I give PMDG my serial key for my dvd version, have them deactivate it and send me a replacement serial etc for the download version? You need the internet to activate right? So could this work?

No. Read post number one - specifically around the section where RSR states "No."

It's the first post in this exact thread...

Well then, lesson learned... Never buy dvd software again unless there is a download version. The ngx -800/900 is my only pmdg product on dvd. My -700/600. js41 and 777's are all downloaded. I think I'm just going to re-buy this in case  of future updates. Yeah the ngx is just worth it :)

You do realize that PMDG is working to provide very soon updates to purchasers of the boxed versions of the 777 and NGX?

If I give you my serial key for my boxed copy, Can you give me a digital version? That way you can cancel my existing CD and I dont have to be punished for getting an unlimited installations boxed copy rather than a 1 year access to a download link?

Jack Cannon

Once again... No.

Read the posts a few posts above yours, and specifically the opening post by Robert Randazzo.

Also, very nice of you to try and start a troll, but the limited download policy has actually been lifted quite some time ago.

If you purchased the DVD version, you have established a customer/retailer business relationship with Aerosoft, NOT with PMDG. Even though PMDG created the software itself, it is Aerosoft who distributed and sold it.

I doubt very much that PMDG could (legally) "cancel" your DVD license - only the entity who sold it to you (Aerosoft) could do so - which is likely why customers with the DVD version are going to have to go through Aerosoft to obtain an update to the software.

Well explained! It's obvious, when you think about it...

Never actually thought of it like that...

Mike

Ya I know (sigh), Its just that I have to wait longer knowing that others are enjoying it (tears)

Please don´t forget updating the SP1D FUEL & ANTI ICE CAUTION LIGHTs indicators.

Amazon UK is selling  the PDDG 777 from a company called PNA247. Does PNA247 provide installers to Aerosoft for the update program for Aerosoft?
