Cessna CJ2 Announced

Featured Replies

Last night on there facebook page,

carenado showed earlier previews of there newest product in development the CJ2,

no interior shots just external,

what ever people want to say about carenado's flight systems e.g in depth you cant knock them for steeping up into the biz jet market and trying to bring there products up in detail,

no one else has giving it ago yet,

i say fair play to you! we all bang on about how there's a lack of biz jets,

keep it up guys!

Indeed, it's nice to see bizjets being catered for.

They nicely cover the ground between the informal, easy to get into VFR props and systems intensive airliners.

For a long time, both FSX and Prepar3d have essentially been Citation X simulators for me thanks to Eaglesoft, so I await the Hawker in particular with great anticipation.

Carenado planes suit me perfectly as I'm more interested in the sim looking and feeling like flying the plane in question, 100% systems accuracy is not as important to me as what it sounds, looks and feels like to be flying. I treat Prepar3d as a bit of escapism!

I think the Hawker is potentially the perfect bizjet for now as it can cross greater distances than the Phenom/S550.

Very true. And to be fair regarding the sometimes monotonous complains (me is guilty!) about lack of systems. I couldn't name any dev offering really deep bizjet renditions and certainly not something being on par when it comes to the atmosphere Carenado tends to create.

So if they don't mix up the pricing levels, I'd envision some nice lineup of small jets coming along and being very welcome.

Guess we found our first tester then.   Awaiting reports. Well, as soon as she's out.

The problem is not that Carenado create business jets with light systems. The problem is, even with the light systems, the aircraft will be full of bugs on release........ and will probably come with a $50 price tag that's not commensurate with such a light product.

i agree with the price tag but you never know how much its cost them to develop this product everyones got over heads but also it think people are use to there pricing for the GA props they developed

I also agree here.  Carenado should charge a price that's commensurable with what they offer.  The F1 Mustang and B200 are very complete and working and are in the same price range.  Carenado business model caters to the sim "gourmands" who just want to see pretty models, may be do a 1 or 2 flights and promptly move on to something else.  Despite loud complaint from the sorts of us, they have not changed, so I guess they still make money, just not from me.

OK. The Phenom 300 is out the door. Back to work on the CJ2.

Honestly, I wonder why they're bothering with systems at all.  Just make all the buttons not work at all unless it maps directly to an FSX control.  Take all the stuff off the advertisement about GNS, Navigraph, etc. and just sell it as "Looks and flies like the real aircraft."  I mean, seriously.  Then they could just crank them all out like mad.  Maybe put a GNS750 pop up in every single one of them for people that want to do some navigation.  At least they'd have good framerates.

I heard from a little birdie that the CJ2 has been shifted in the production schedule and is now a 1st quarter 2016 product. Ugh.
