I bought the gtn 750 yesterday and put it in a a2a Cherokee. Tried to set up a flight in Houston. kdwh  texxn ally rjaay kgls. those are fixes and the data base said they do not exist.

Manual says you need to wait about 50 seconds or so for the database to fully load before entering a flight plan after you start the GNT 750.

Cheers, Rob.

Just flew 2 routes with the T-Duke V2 and the 750 - great improvements!  If you're still on the fence, those two add-ons are very much worth it!

I was just checking this thread with the intention of calling attention to Neil's tutorial video, but it appears I'm a bit late. So let me just thank Neil for his effort. Even though I've been using the GTN 750 since it was released for P3D, I still learned a lot I didn't know. Thanks Neil, and I look forward to your further videos on this subject.

Good stuff Neil,  another cracking upload,  keep them coming

This is most definitely a sassy piece of software.

Did i see that right,  that even though you can only integrate the GTN 750 into a small number of aircraft,  you can still use it as a pop up in all aircraft ?

I just got gtn 750 working with every thing i wanted to work thanks to Bert Pieke. And let me tell you this is one great program, I am using it in my tbm and a2a Cherokee.

It has made my flights fun again in the ga planes. Mite have to buy the turbine duke. There goes my credit card again lol.

Thanks again to Bert.

Regards Ted Kiser

P.S. going to fly my local Houston area in the Cherokee for the rest of the day. Was going golfing but having to much fun.

Thanks Elaine! You can indeed use it as a popup in any plane.

btw, my video was just made a sticky over at the GTN Support Forum, so I'm pretty happy with that!

In a slightly different tone, if I have one criticism of the F1GTN it's the fact that the 650 and the 750 are the same price.

I'm pretty sure that F1 could snag a few more customers if they offered the 650 at a lower price because after a short while they'd be itching for the 750. Just my own personal opinion and I'm pretty sure that F1 have their reasons!

Excellent stuff Neil, delighted to hear that   B)

The thing is,  there are 1000's of folks out there *like myself* that rely on these fantastic videos and uploads to help us along,.  The developers do a great job developing but in some case's suck at proper tutorials.     *read the manuals*  i here you say.  I wont i say,  cause i'm fat and lazy.

To me the data base is incomplete. How do i set up a flight guessing on way points. Maby i am doing something wrong any body else have that problem.

I have sent in a ticket about it but probably wont here back till Monday.

Thanks Ted Kiser

P.S the gtn 750 is pretty cool

The waypoints "TEXXN" and "RJAAY" are approach fixes for RNAV instrument approach procedures to other airports in the Houston area. These cannot legally be used for enroute navigation, which is why the GTN won't let you include them in a flight plan.

You should restrict yourself to using only waypoints that appear on official IFR enroute charts. For your trip above you could try KDWH MIFFI ACOLA KGLS - a little longer than your route, but should work.

If anyone's interested, I was contacted by the fine folks at Flight1 who liked my video so much they've featured it on their GTN Product page!  :o
