December 31, 201510 yr This is a question I have asked as well, but never got a response to....maybe no-one knows why.... It seems that much of the XPX world is gray as default, unless other colors are added. Maybe something to do with Open GL? Bruce. Try turning on HDR and adjusting your gamma setting (both in the rendering options menu). The colours and lighting of X-Plane can be tweaked quite a bit - and don´t forget that it is also a matter of personal preference and what you are used to. I also thought that the lighting in X-Plane is gloomy when I first moved over, but now I can´t even look at default FSX with its baby-blue sky, clouds of snowy-white and grass so green that it feels like watching a 50´s cartoon  Jan
January 4, 201610 yr I tried the suggestion on replays + animated car traffic - and it worked! Made the car traffic density go to zero and then reloaded them and they started moving again.. how wonderful! anyone else tried it? Vinod Kumar i9 10900K 5.3 Ghz, RTX 3090, 32GB RAM, Win 11. I know this is a bit off topic, but is there a way to remove or move the replay bar? I think it's pretty a nonsense to have a sticky bar in the middle of the screen when one is supposed to watch a flight replay. Riccardo Viecca

So I guess it's not on their to-do list.
January 4, 201610 yr I asked the question (Laminar) a while ago and never received a reply. So I guess it's not on their to-do list. Ah, pity because right now making movies with xplane is not intuitive, one has to first record video and then add sound but for example with AI is impossible to replicate the same condition. I think it'd not be an hard fix to make the bar invisible/visible with a key. Riccardo Viecca
January 4, 201610 yr Just landing any descent payware aircraft just feels soooooo right, even the default aircraft dynamics you can feel them, and the night lighting, WOW, how good is that!! I can't wait for the next two or three aircraft that are coming out! That's all we need....and they're coming for sure! I'm having a problem taking off in X-Plane. I've been using the beautiful 767 Professional, but upon taking off and reaching around 80kts the airplane pull to the right and I cannot bring it back on the runway whether using the tiller, pedals or yoke. It just goes off into the grass. If I can get it in the air, it will hand fly very good, and I can land it without any problem. I can even taxi without problems. Just when I take off, it veers off to the right at a little over 80kts and can't be controlled. All of my controllers are working fine and centered. I fly the PMDG 777 and NGX and never have this kind of problem. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Bob Robert Yunque PilotEdge Ratings = CAT-11 (2016-09-13) I-11 (2016-10-23) V-3 (2016-08-01)

Bob Hi Bob, A couple of things maybe to look at; 1* Yaw dampers 2* Rudder trim You're not the first one to mention this as there is a new thread at the .org on FF's dedicated 767 forum. You might want to keep an eye on it over there. cheers
January 5, 201610 yr is there a simulation rate or time acceleration feature in X-plane that's as good as what's there in FSX? I don't want ground speed acceleration which does not change time and fuel burn.. i'm looking for time compression.. what are the limits of time compression in x-plane? January 5, 201610 yr Moderator what are the limits of time compression in x-plane? I can't remember the keyboard shortcut, I think it's alt+t or shift+t, one of this is ground speed acceleration, the other is time compression. However, I've never been able to run it at 1.5x speed because it says my system can't handle it. I think you need a pretty powerful computer to run the sim time accelerated. When flying over water I just use the ground speed acceleration, which isn't perfect but is the only one I've been able to use.
January 5, 201610 yr ALT + T -> ground speed accelerate CTRL + T -> flight model accelerate just googled it.. hmm.. i really need the 2nd one, and since X-plane computes the physics at every instant, not sure how thats gonna work out.. if it doesn't do a good job, i'll need to restrict XP10 only for short hauls and use FSX for long hauls.. January 5, 201610 yr Moderator The ground speed acceleration works ok, but it can mess up. e.g. If you enable the autopilot and enable acceleration, the autopilot can mess up quite badly if it isn't stable, e.g. If you fly into bad weather, the sim will lose control of the plane quite quickly. I'm not sure how FSX does it, but I presume it just accelerates the speed and time passage, but doesn't actually try and simulate the physics at 4x the speed. You can possibly reproduce this in XP by accelerating ground speed and then when you arrive at a waypoint, e.g. other side of the atlantic, use shift+L to move the clock forward to the time you should have arrived at that point.
January 5, 201610 yr Jeez! I wasn't even aware there was such a feature - Ground Speed Acceleration ??? Just used CTRL-T Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
January 5, 201610 yr we still have to account for fuel consumption if we just do ground acceleration and time lapse.. Fuel reading will be same at end of flight as what it was at takeoff.. I read somewhere in a forum that if you're in the runway view (where you don't see the aircraft) this allows for 6X time acceleration without performance drop.. will try it and let you know.. January 5, 201610 yr But this will not work that well, I guess, if you set 3 flight models per time frame, instead of the default 2. For helicopters or aerobatic aircraft I can even chose 4 flightmodels per frame! I think it'd not be an hard fix to make the bar invisible/visible with a key. If you use the builtin recoding, the replay bar will be hided. The downside: you don't have sound. If you want to have sound, you have to use e.g. Fraps (in Windows). Downside: you will see the replay bar - unless you have a 16:10 monitor like me and can cut the top of the video out. Or ... even when you have a 16:9 monitor, you can crop the video on all 4 sides by a few pixels. Move the "crop mask" down until the replay bar isn't any more in the visible area.
