For those of us who grew up flying Flight Simulator out of that airport, this is really

a nice "gift" a few weeks after Christmas  :wink:

 

Lovingly recreated, with tons of attention to detail, yet with no performance issues,

this is IMHO a "must have" for any senior flightsimmer.

Nice heads-up, Bert. Pity I did not hold fire and instead bought the Steam version, albeit, on sale. Two of the same airports is a tad too much for me.

I'm happy that they included us "non Steam" users in the party!

I've thought about it....  but I don't know if I can sim to a airport that doesn't exist today

The product page says they redid the entire area including all the downtown buildings. I'd like to have them but the park instead of the airport on the peninsula.

That's a "must have" . I'd like to be able to compare it (side by side) with the oldest FS version. Maybe somebody will do it and post it here. :smile:

Immediately after I saw that it was available, I downloaded it!  It's such a feeling of happiness because I flew into it and from it so very many times.  I really like what ORBX did with it, and I will enjoy many hours of  using this airport.  Hopefully, someday, someone will UNDO the horror that was done by going like "a thief into the night" and destroying a wonderfully USEFUL airport.  Wouldn't that be refreshing?  It CAN BE DONE...CHICAGO.  Speak up!!!

Not much of Meigs Field in the oldest MSFS version to compare to the newest. I did the Avsim review of the Steam version of Meigs Field but it has not made it to the Front Page just yet (any weekend now). I almost put in a section to compare the real early version but opted to compare the current P3D default to the new Steam version instead. The 'Parks, piers, aquarium, museums, and planetarium are well done even in the default P3D scenery but are top of the class for the new Orbx edition. The Steam version is on sale for less than ten bucks.
