I have a minor annoyance with PF3 (which I just purchased thanx to Bob) - I have a lot of plans that are direct GPS routes from airport to airport. PF3 won't load them - complains that the plan must have a waypoint. Unless I missed it, there's no way around this except to add a waypoint.

:(

That's also true with PATC, you must have at least one waypoint. I use Skyvector to create the plan which takes just a minute, and then use Plan G to load the plan from Skyvector, and PlanG exports it as a FS 2004 plan which P3D and PF3 can read. Here is a video of that being done.

In what way is PF3 more immersive and interesting than default ATC when it comes to VFR flights?

Try it and find out for yourself. Default ATC is way way way out of the picture and is not in any way shape or form ICAO compliant.

You cannot have a valid IFR flight plan without waypoints.

Jeroen, here's just a few,

for a full list of changes features, http://www.oncourse-software.co.uk/pf3_whats_new.htm

Default ATC, not ICAO compliant

PF3, ICAO compliant

Default ATC limited voices with only american accents

PF3 119 voice sets covering 26 geographic areas which change as you fly from region to region

Default ATC Transition altitude 18000 feet worldwide

PFE Different transition altitudes for the 26 geographic regions

You can, also, change airport's TA individually.

Ok, clear, but when you fly VFR you don't have that much contact with ATC, at least not as you have when you fly VFR. So what does PF3 offer specifically for VFR that default doesn't offer?

I know default ATC sucks for IFR, which is why I own ProATC, but for VFR default isn't that bad (and ProATC is pretty useless for VFR) and so I'd like to know hat PF3 would give me when flying VFR. The provided link still mainly shows me IFR related features. Bob said PF3 is great for VFR and I still don't know why.

Got it! Thanx!

Hi, can you tell me what page in the PF3 Forum that's on, please?  I've been looking, but can't find it.  Or maybe the title of the thread.

Thanks.
