December 22, 200520 yr Hi Len,Take your point but do remember 'good things come to those who wait' :-lolAll the best,John
December 22, 200520 yr change the flow of the atc voices to be more realistic like the ms atc and I will buy it in a second. Until then, I can't get over the way they talk to you. And with my tons of AI traffic, they talk too slow.Plus get the great editvoicepack to work with it, and I will be a happy customer!
December 22, 200520 yr Yeah if it were available as a download I would have already gotten it. My HD us full of impulse buys. You guys should join the rest of the addon world and allow the buyer to "have it now". It really works.

Now that I own the product, I wouldn't spend 5 minutes listening to the mindless FS9 ATC, no matter how fast they talked. Once you fly with this ATC, you will be hooked, big time.
December 22, 200520 yr That does it! I'm ordering it too, after reading Bob's and Manny's posts here. I'll be buying my own Christmas present too, although I know that this won't arrive until after Christmas now. :). No worries- thanks to everyone that posted here regarding this product.Bruce. December 22, 200520 yr The robotic voices on the demo videos completely turned me off in terms of wanting to buy this. Now, on the other hand, if this were a downloadable product, I'd probably buy it anyways.I wish the makers of Proflight 2000 would get back together and release an updated version of their fantastic program.ricardo
December 22, 200520 yr Author Commercial Member where do you live? you would buy it if it were downloadable, but if it took 4-5 days in the states, you won't?scratching my head.jd JD Read my blog
December 22, 200520 yr I would probably buy it too if it were downloadable; Having packages sent to me is a royal pain because I live in an apartment building and I do not get a proper mailbox. If I have packages sent to me I have to drive to the post office and get them, and most of the time they don't notify me that I have a package waiting (They stick a note to the door and the notes seem to have a habit of disappearing) so I have to go daily after work and check and make sure my package isn't waiting. More than once they've gotten my name wrong and returned packages waiting for me even though I've come by looking for them. They did this to me one with a box I had ordered from Japan, and it took me almost two months to get it reshipped. Parcel services doesn't work either because they only want to come around to deliver while I am at work. At least they tend to leave notes under the door rather than stuck on the outside.
December 22, 200520 yr Its got nothing to do with where we live or if we are willing to wait 3-4 days.Is all about making it as easy as possible and enticing spend our $$$$$$$.None of us really need any of these addons.Or lifes do not depend on them. They are pure pleasure and enjoyment.I and many others are simply saying that if we could simply press a few buttons and presto, there it is, would have already bought it.If we have to think twice about it for what ever reason, say 3-4 days waiting, we will not.I kinda wish all paywares didnt offer downloads. Heck I wouldnt have 2/3 of the stuff I have loaded now!But its people like me who are spending the money and can make a developer some money. If they do not want to tap into that market, thats their decision.
December 23, 200520 yr From what I've read the developer hasn't made it available for download because of size concerns. Sure, thats fair enough I guess.I think as it stands today a lot of people have access to faster and faster broadband and downloading 700mb off a good server doesn't take terribly long at all.Surely any postage costs included in the price could be used to pay for bandwidth enabling people to download?I think your product would get a lot more interest if the option was there. I am planning on buying it soon myself, but I am holding off to the New Year so that any mail delays aren't a factor.Just my 2c worth :) Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
December 23, 200520 yr Hello jdI have ordered RC4 but this close to christmas and knowing the state of our postal servise in the UK i doubt if i will recieve it till the new year at which point the holidays will be over and i will be back to limited time to enjoy my Sim.I am lucky enough to enjoy 10 Mbit broadband here in england, in fact 8 Mbit is becoming the default speed here and would have been able to download RC4 in around 10 Minutes 12.8 Seconds according to my speed test site.I have a ringbinder full of receipts from Simmarket and all of the good payware developers all bought online, the availability of online sales is the only reason for the growth of the payware market.Prior to the internet and the wide availability of broadband the addon market consisted of a few dusty boxes at your local software store.PLEASE sell this at Simmarket!!.
December 23, 200520 yr Although 700 MB (the size of the RC files) is considerable, Flight1 offers Ultimate Terrain: USA for download, and that weighs in at 1.2 GB. As has been said, I would imagine that the savings from shipping and the CD manufacturing aspects of the business could be applied toward paying an online distributor, whicb would also bring in more of the impulse payware buyers, of which I am a part. Ultimately, I feel that most, if not all, payware will need to go to a downloadable format if the authors wish to maximize their sales.
December 23, 200520 yr I don't know what sort of anti-piracy protection RC has, but if it's good enough, it could be distributed via BitTorrent - That's how Blizzard distributes upgrades to the World of Warcraft software, and also how X-Plane and lots of other stuff gets distributed. That would greatly reduce the bandwidth cost to the publisher and make the size of the software a non-issue.
