Only thing I'd say is that the cmd window sometimes looks like it's hung, even if it hasn't hasn't. It seems to take its sweet time over some of the updates. Just let it do its thing and go make a cup of tea. yes thats the thing that probably causes user thinking its hung or frozen, than they close it and than the issues begins for them. since had the same issue thought it was hung than remembered Roberts post to let it do its thing and don't touch it, went to watch tv for 30 mins came back and it had finished. March 16, 20179 yr Author Commercial Member Gents, One of our goals as we continue to adapt and refine the technology is to wind it in more closely with the Operations Center itself, so that the "progress bar" will reflect the progress of the download and installation, rather than showing you the progress of downloading the applet that does the work... This requires a ground up rewrite of the Operations Center, which will begin shortly... With that rewrite we will be bringing you something else totally unexpected- but we think you will really like. Sounds great Rob. I think in this world of one click installers we get conditioned to think that if it's not doing anything then it's hung. I guess that once you're aware of just needing to leave it be then you won't run into any problems but its great to see developers finessing the usability of these kind of utilities. | Ben Weston www.airline2sim.com

Maybe make it more pictorial/graphical ala Orbx Central so we can see what's available and what's installed at a glance. Anywho, can't wait to see what you have up you're sleeves Alaister Kay
March 18, 20179 yr Hello All, I disabled my AV but the update keeps hanging at file 5 of 62, the PMDG_747QOTSII.dll any suggestions? DISREGARD. It just took a really long time ;-) Scott Edited March 18, 20179 yr by skyymann problem solved! Kendall S Mann Still Telling Pilots Where To Go!!
March 18, 20179 yr A suggestion for the command line window: Many Linux or old MS-DOS console apps implement a simple progress bar consisting of a series of asterisks or other symbols that increase in length as a download or other process works towards completion. Should be quick and easy to code, and would provide visual confirmation to users that the current file download is actually "doing something", and not hung. March 19, 20179 yr Thanks Robert for your insight. I was stuck with a "black" 747. I decided to upgrade my internet connection with CPL plugs (I always had bad wifi) and disabled my AV. So far everything is working perfectly. My Queen is up-to-date and running smoothly. The key is a good (fast) internet connection and no AV to be sure the update is not corrupted. Cheers, Alex Alexandre Giordan
March 20, 20179 yr I can't get the update to complete after trying all the posted suggestions. So, I'm wondering if the complete installer is an option? Does the current complete installer have the newest version including the update? Can I uninstall reinstall using the newest complete installer which I was able to download? Thanks.

Updating the entire installer each time we have a minor update isn't really feasible, however, which is one of the reasons we came up with the updater function. We plan on updating the main installer regularly, but not for each minor update. 15 minutes ago, jimst57 said: Can I uninstall reinstall using the newest complete installer which I was able to download? Sure, but this will mean you have the original Release to Market (RTM) version, and not the latest version. This isn't an issue, as the RTM is functional, but it isn't the latest version. If you read my comments in the original post closely, I mention specifically the following: While we research how to interact more gracefully with aggressive AV software- you can solve this problem by COMPLETELY disabling your AV software, THEN running the Operations Center and product update process. We have found that in nearly all cases we have worked with- correctly white listing the Operations Center worked most of the time, but disabling the A/V temporarily while conducting the update works even more effectively. We have the benefit of collecting a TON of data from users here in the forum and via support when it comes to solving problems- so follow the directions we give you and it SHOULD work out... Keep us posted on your progress, please? I'd like to make sure you get up and running normally! Thanks, but BTW i cant get it to work..... turned off AV, etc.... re-downloaded and installed RTM, then tried update, but i am not able to achieve it. Did that many times, i just can not update. I read many times during the download lines this message: "was not able to download..." etc etc On 3/19/2017 at 3:47 PM, alex98 said: ... This is likely the cause of your issue at the moment. We're working on ways to improve speeds to various areas to help solve this. Kyle Rodgers
