Useless

I've gone pretty tweakless on 3.4 with mostly maxed sliders except turning off HDR and unlimited FPS.  Skylake @4.9 with HThreading.  XC FPS in 80's.  BTW P3D doesn't like setting Affinity Mask

Perhaps for your P3D but there are many users that use all sorts of combinations of AM to control cores. And it is ok with LM.

So your statement could be misleading to a newbie

Hello,

I have read several sources of P3D tweak and I must say it really depends on how the tweaks perform on the source owner system. I have learned several things from the tweak above, thanks for posting. It might / might not help my P3D, but it helps me gaining knowledge about how people approach their P3D configuration.

I am brand new to P3D, just bought it the day before and today I did my first flight with FSLabs A320X. I believed I only change AM to 85 and that's it, no more tweak and I still have unbelievable performance (compare to FSX:SE).
Flying from Flightbeam KSFO to KPHX and after landing I still have ~600MB free VAS, that is very good compare to FSX:SE, FPS always above 30 with unlimited.

Granted you should start with no tweaks.  But its disingenuous to say that P3D tweaks are useless.  I mean Rob didn't put together that AVSIM P3D guide because he's bored and doesn't like his free time.  There is a reason he laid everything out they way he did.  Depending on system there might be a tweak needed to say level an old GPU or push a  certain performance parameter.

Flight sim caveat: Everyone's system is different!

So for the OP: Just start with no tweaks and take a look at Rob's guide.  Then work from there to make it as best as you can get it to whatever balance you want.  Performance>Visual or Visual>Performance, etc.

If the OP had done a search on "Tweaks" on the P3D forum, there are over 60 pages in the results for that search.

Agreed but in his defense thats not what he asked.

He asked if the guy who runs that website, if his tweaks had any merit.

Most of those tweaks are covered by Rob and elsewhere.

Cheers for all the input guys.

I do believe certain tweaks are valuable for the sim and may improve performance somehow.

should i leave NVCP alone? He mentioned to set Adaptive Vsync and triple buffer

I dont have P3D, but for FSX disabling in NVCP Threaded Optimisation did wonders for me. (Me..-< !)
