I'm trying hard not to mention AES.

We should be glad that it is dead. It made the developers lazy when it came to Jetways. Now most of them are using SODE which is totally fine and you don't have to pay extra for every airport. The 15 Euro I paid for AES credits are the biggest remorse of all my add-ons :)

The real issue is the pathetically impatient and immature attitude of many simmers on this and other forums.

Wouldn't be a problem if the companies involved could manage a project. If you can't meet a lunch date don't publish one. If it is going to years until the project is done, don't tease customers with endless "previews" of projects. When a launch date is considered a joke by customers the company involved should take notice. Then again that is assuming they care about their public image. I guess some just don't.

But this must be with contracts with other companies. Its also likely not something that is about 40-50$.

Absolutely correct, but I was talking about professional behavior, not the cost of the project. When someone gets on the back of my plane I don't care about their means or popularity. I have a job to deliver them safely, efficiently, and comfortably to their location doing my best to be on time. Anything less is unacceptable and unprofessional. I think FS Software companies can do the same thing. Then again I may have an overdeveloped sense of responsibility and pride in my job.

Come on, how can you blame them. If you read 2010 "It will be released this summer" and 2011 "It will be ready this year" and 2012 and 2013 and 2015 there is a countdown which stopps at 9 days and two years later there is still nothing... what do you expect? But actually there is only a hand full of people still engaged in this thread. Most people lost interest I suppose.

Yes in hindsight I will have to defer to both you and KenG on this one. I did not realise this debacle had gone on for quite so long. In my defense I was writing in more general terms. Having been involved in the past with some beta testing and consultation work I am amazed at the unreasonable expectations and comments that some simmers make.

Looks like a few lads having a joke and a laugh to me.

I don't think Fabien's post means anything. And the screenshot is photoshopped.

It's not about the photoshopped image, i think i'm smarter than that...

Hans is hinting at the end of the thread while that other guy is saying that the thread name will change real soon which means a [RELEASED] will be added. It shouldn't take long now.

Sorry, but what is the transparency helping if ALL the information given is plain wrong. Show me one time, where it was only near the truth...

Then I prefer the other way... to be quiet till you have something sure... Like Orbx... when previews pop up, you know, you will get your hands on it soon. And no, it is no option, just not to read the preview thread... the news pop up everywhere... or threads like this.

Oh dear GOD! There's just no winning in this community!

You give release projections - YES you heard me... Aerosoft (or any other developer, for that matter) has never given any release dates. They've given release projections. In other words - projections or oracle-looking-in-the-crystal-ball ideas, of when they project that the release is... So stop this Developer-is-filling-me-with-nothing-but-lies debacle...

At least Aerosoft is open regarding their project development plan. If it were the other way around, you would be complaining too! Head over to the FSLabs forums, and see a taste of what would happen. Constant complaints, that no information is disclosed!
To be honest, I'm just so tired of people here, yammering on about how developers - on one side are filling them with lies, hype, release dates that they can't hold. And on the other end of the spectrum, complaining that no news, release projections, dates, images, dairies, workbooks or other information is divulged from the developer... *SIGH*

There's just no winning here...
Sorry, people - rant off.

( I'll probably catch hell for this, but something needs to be said!)

Sorry, but I'm reading it as sarcasm. They are just joking around, like they normally do.

I hope you're right though!

Closing the existing thread isn't due to the release of the CRJ being imminent (though it may indeed be very close). The closure is due to the fact that after six + years, the thread has now grown so large that it is about to run into a hard-coded limit in the forum software relating to the maximum number of posts a single thread can contain!

I assume they will start a new preview thread to pick up where old one leaves off...

There's actually a limit?
