February 6, 20188 yr Hello, I'm looking to buy a plane for short hops (example:Brussels-Madrid) and I am into private bussines jets. I was looking at the Carenado - E50P Phenom 100 and the Carenado - EMB505 Phenom 300. What do you guys think about these aircraft or do you have other suggestions? Please let me know. PS. I like glass cockpits
February 6, 20188 yr I have the Phenom 300 and this it is a great aircraft (since they upgraded it for P3DV4.1). Excellent textures and everything works. February 6, 20188 yr Hi... Welcome aboard - hope you enjoy your time here... Unfortunately - the glass cockpits Carenado makes are fraught with issues - like being unable to navigate properly... Some - have been modded to incorporate a fictional Garmin GTN (additional purchase) to allow for proper navigation... Bert - one of the key modders - I believe likes the Phenom 300 with his mods... You have to PM Bert your email address to get his mods... There's also a difference between "Big Glass" and "Small Glass" panels - Carenado's updated S550 Citation with native Garmin GTN support (additional purchase) seems to do pretty well - albeit - maybe not as sexy as a Phenom... February 6, 20188 yr I concur, Scott. You also can't go wrong with Carenado's other 3 jets: The CJ2, the Hawker 850XP, and the Premier 1A as long as you have the GTN750 and Bert's mods. (as mentioned above by Scott) You may be scared off by the price tag on the GTN750, but it is well worth the investment and can be used on various other planes/jets.

February 8, 20188 yr I can't in my right mind recommend any Carenado bizjet except the C550 (assuming you own the GTN). My recommendation would be the Xtreme prototype Lear (again with the GTN). Or, the pmdg 737 and fly it as a BBJ No dev has tackled a real bizjet with FMS yet - Eaglesoft has a C560+ coming but it's initially for FSX. Russ Hi Russ, I did a flight from KLAS - KLAX with ASP4, GEP3D, and UTX2 and got the following FSUIPC report: Minimum frame rate was 18.2 fps, Maximum was 83.4 fps Average frame rate for running time of 3901 secs = 49.1 fps Maximum AI traffic for session was 179 aircraft Memory managed: 1870 Allocs, 1869 Freed Here's a flight from FSDT Louisville to FSDT Memphis with ASP4, GEP3D, and UTX2: Minimum frame rate was 8.8 fps, Maximum was 87.2 fps Average frame rate for running time of 7217 secs = 48.6 fps Maximum AI traffic for session was 119 aircraft Memory managed: 2657 Allocs, 2656 Freed Most likely the 8.8 fps came at Louisville or after landing at Memphis. Both flights were very smooth. I have a very powerful system though. These flights were done soon after the update to V2 for P3Dv4.1. Haven't had a chance to use lately as the CS757 came out and believe the PMDG aircraft were all updated too. Then, I'm sort kept busy here at AVSIM. Too much fun... February 9, 20188 yr I had a dream... Gulfstream + PMDG... Until then no biz jet for me. The Carenados are all so pretty, but sadly, they are too frustrating for me. They just can't seem to avoid some major flaw or bug in their aircraft and the constant serach and wait for band aids is annyoing. Carenado aircraft aren't exactly cheap either... Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!
