September 21, 20187 yr I also see a new type of clouds perhaps? Can we expect a new cloud rendering system with particle? Alexander Colka

September 21, 20187 yr Other things it might be good for, are smoke effects from engines, especially dirty ones like old radials. Maybe an improvement in the rain mist effects from tires and prop wash on wet runways, and helicopter rotor wash effects over water or dirt. Those all look a bit cheesy now, with cycling bitmap puffs. Those effects shouldn't have more of a GPU hit than contrails. It's still just a bit of eye candy compared to other things we'd like to see (3D weather! seasons!), but every little bit helps make the sim look more realistic. September 21, 20187 yr Hopefully, they'll throw in a wavetop shader. It's a bit silly to not have foam on waves on windy days. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
September 21, 20187 yr About time we got that fixed. The old ones is one of the less worthy effects to still show up in XP11 😄 Chock 1.1: "The only thing that whines louder than a jet engine is a flight simmer."

Taking longer than expected... from the dev blog: "A quick note on 11.30: we have an internal build of 11.30 that seems to be working and we’ll be rolling out private betas next week, as soon as we get menu items for the particle system editor. Once we get some feedback on the private beta we’ll know if we’re close to public beta or not." September 22, 20187 yr Author Here's more info on 11.30... "New ATC voice system" anyone?? https://www.thresholdx.net/news/xp1130 That other screen in the post, given it's legit, looks very promising. Maybe we won't need any shader or atmosphere rendering add-ons anymore. That shot is not an 11.30 preview unfortunately, it's mentioned in comments. Probably xvision? "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".
