Fast Single: In the Murk

Of course this aircraft is right up my alley...  so here's a flight from Port Angeles KCLM to Quillayute KUIL.  Leaving CLM was mostly lower-ish vis (but still VFR) and I climbed to 16,500 to top the weather...  but also had troubles finding holes on the way down to maintain VFR.  I would have rather shot an approach but UIL does not have one.  This thing has very well done systems including SVS in the G1000 - it's freaking amazing!

Great shots of this beautiful plane flying in the misty and murky PNW! This plane has one of the best-looking PFDs on a GA, I think. Thanks for posting these lovely images, Ryan!

Impressive!

John

Would you get a VFR allowance in RL for this? I don't think so, but I am not a RL pilot thus would be interested to know.

Thanks and kind regards, Michael

Very nice shots ! And very elegant aircraft (but being french, I am not completely impartial in this case 😀)

Looks like a must have for XP 11.

How is the performance on your system and do you recommend it as much as the 340A?

Looks good. Glad you're enjoying it.

Do you mean was I able to maintain VFR throughout the whole flight?  Yes.  I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "vfr allowance" but if you're in the USA you can fly VFR below FL180 as long as you adhere to certain cloud and visibility values.

Yeah it's pretty nice...  the plane is a bit heavy on my aging system but they did release a perf mod and it's better.  Now if they'd do a lancair I'd be excited lol.  I know there is another dev doing a regular legacy.

Thanks. I found similar conditions myself already when flying VFR and while I was able to complete the flight I felt a bit uneasy. But at least in the US this seems to be just my risk.

Kind regards, Michael

Nice shots, love the plane. Can X-Plane and PD3 coexists on the same computer without any issues? Thinking of installing XP on a separate disk but concerned about any interference like with flight controls, simmconnect etc?

Cheers

You don't have to be French to love this aircraft! 🙂  Hands down the sexiest GA aircraft with a fan in front.

Fantastic shots Ryan!  If I could only have one GA bird in my fleet it would be this one.  Those scimitar prop blades look as though they'd frighten the air ahead of them outta' the way...which would explain why this plane is so fast! 🤣

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for the info, that's good to know. Look forward to trying out XP and especially the TBM 900!

Cheers
